Like the Fishman Loudbox Mini Charge, you can take this amp anywhere, with the choice of AC power via an adaptor at the wall or 8 AA batteries. The batteries are housed in a removable carriage and can be recharged. It’s not quite as elegant a solution as charging the Loudbox at the wall but bear in mind that should you leave your charger at home you can get batteries anywhere at a pinch. German acoustic amp titan AER manufactures a suite of incredible acoustic amps but for our money, and for the professional’s money, it’s the AER Compact 60 MkIV that takes the cake. It will bring out the best in your acoustic, delivering its tone amplified, untampered, and with all the mod-cons you need in a pro-quality two-channel acoustic amp. For the gigging guitarist and studio pro alike, this is the one. Used by the likes of Tommy Emmanuel, its small and portable but can fill a room. For busking as a solo artist or as a duet you need a small amp with enough power to be heard but without being power hungry enough that you need to stop your set after 30 minutes to let your amp recharge or carry around a generator as well. This amp is designed to offer a high-quality but extremely versatile and portable amp option, perfect for musicians who enjoy playing live performances to small to medium sized crowds. The Acoustic Singer series from Boss takes the bi-amp format to offer an all-in-one amp solution for singer-songwriters, and its excellent design, tone and value for money make it a hugely attractive choice for any electro-acoustic player.

Compact yet powerful, the Fishamn Loudbox Micro 40w Acoustic amp is the perfect practice amplifier that delivers iconic Loudbox tones without taking up too much space. Boasting 40 watts of clean acoustic power, to Loudbox Micro delivers a natural, acoustic chime that preserves and projects the character of your acoustic guitar. This YouTube video will help you get the right setting in case you really need to play for a much larger crowd. Solution: Actually, the XLR output is already permanently ground isolated, so you don’t need to have a ground lift switch. This is a great move from Fishman to prevent ground loop when connecting the amp into a PA system. However, if you experience some hissing and humming in the system, you could refer to the first issue for the solution. Issue 3: Not that loud when playing at larger venues

Since the tweeter is always in circuit and non-adjustable, the highs can sound over-sparkling if pushed, but that's simply a matter of tailoring the treble band to taste. With 60 watts of power, a 6.5-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter, you can’t expect its power. What’s great is, it’ll efficiently project the original tone of your guitar. When you’re playing a steel-string guitar you can appreciate its mind-blowing sound quality. It has enough power to liven up small to medium-sized venues. The chorus effect of this amp is of a high standard, particularly when combined with the reverb addition. The instrument channel that the amp features comes complete with a blend of standard EQ effects, which for the low price of the amp is a fantastic addition.Neither channel has a high/low gain switch: you simply set the gain level according to whether your instrument system is active or passive. The master section is simply that: a master volume, adjacent to which is the power LED. This amp comes with a standard aux and XLR input which is ideal for both mic and PA integration. The Fishman Loudbox Mini amp also has two channels which can be controlled individually, with the buttons being changeable without an external source meaning that it’s easy to get the perfect tone. Honestly, it just might be! I’ve been a fan of Fishman as a brand for years, and they’re already very well known for quality amps used primarily by travelling guitarists and buskers. The Fishman Loudbox Mini Bluetooth is Fishman’s lightest and most portable amp. It now comes with the addition of Bluetooth® wireless connectivity.

The Loudbox Mini Charge is the latest member of the Fishman Loudbox family. It takes the already very popular Loudbox Mini and adds in a rechargable battery that lasts for up to 12 hours at an average volume level. Ideal for buskers or traveling musicians that need to set up wherever they can this amp has everything you need to push your guitar sound out to the crowd! On the output side there is just a single mix D.I. output that sends all of the the channels through a single mono output if you want to plug into a larger PA system but still get the same sound of your amp. SpecificationsHere’s where it gets interesting. The SFX knob on the control panel works in conjunction with the side-radiating speaker to dial in how much stereo spread you want from the amp. You can leave the SFX off and have your tone poking right at your audience, or dial in a bit or spread it wider with the SFX for a more ambient in-the-room sound. Using the SFX with the Vibratone brings forth some lush wobble and rotary speaker swirl. The MkIV is much the same as the much-loved MkIII. There is the Colour switch that can cut the low-mids and boost the highs to help accentuate fingerstyle playing, and this you can fine-tune via the EQ. And transparency is still the name of the game (set at noon, the Compact 60 is totally neutral). But the MkIV comes equipped with an auxiliary input with level control, a pre/post-FX switch to let you place your direct signal before or after the onboard effects, and 9V phantom power on channel 1 to supply instrument preamps without a battery. The best acoustic guitar amp for you can also be a question of outputs. If you are looking for a recording amp, or if you want to send a signal via PA speakers, you’ll need a line out or XLR DI output. Many of these amps will offer a variety of solutions here, with ground lift to kill hum and some with the option of choosing channels for the outputs. But then there are a host of tone-shaping features to look out for that can save your tone on a day when, for example, you are playing with other musicians, and you need the EQ to brighten up your tone and help your fingerstyle pop through the mix. If you’ve got a smaller-bodied orchestra or parlour model then you could always dial in a little extra in the lower-mids to add depth to strummed chords. The Fishman Loudbox Mini Bluetooth is here presented in a Special Edition Cream finish. A full-featured acoustic guitar amplifier, the Loudbox Mini benefits from Fishman’s extensive knowledge of acoustic instrument amplification. 60 watts of power makes it suitable for most performance scenarios, while two channels, Bluetooth connectivity and a Balanced XLR D.I. give it plenty of versatility.

If you're looking for a battery-powered amp that will make your acoustic guitar and vocals stand out at any medium-sized venue (indoor and outdoor), I honestly believe the Fishman Loudbox Mini Charge is the best option. It offers the amazing sound quality of the Fishman Loudbox series (obviously not as full and loud as the larger Artist or Performer amps, but still surprisingly good for its size), with the added benefit of portability. The battery will easily last for a longer show (I've played it for 4 hours straight while busking and it still had plenty of juice). If you add the car charger to your shopping list, you could literally take this amp anywhere you want to go. The on-board effects can add some flavour to your sound, although it doesn't give you a lot of fine-tuning options. Combining this amp with some battery-powered pedals or mixers, however you could broaden your sound and even add more than two instruments to the mix. The SFX looks like a breed apart from other acoustic guitar amps. It has a retro-minimism with its maple-ply cabinet evoking Danish modernism. This will look good in the home beside your Kaare Klint chairs, or the coffee shop, club, wherever you intend to play it.Amps such as the Marshall AS50D have a notch filter and a frequency sweep control to really give you control over it. Others will have phase switches, on/off buttons that cut some of the low-end frequencies that can cause mischief. The Fishman Loudbox Mini is the ideal companion for an acoustic electric guitar, particularly for newer players. While the design does seem somewhat bulky, it’s important to note that the amp features a large woofer, which is partially why the amp design is somewhat on the bulky side.
