I tend to use a combination of these techniques as well. I could have easily shown another 3 techniques I use, but I feel that with these 4 as a foundation that you can figure it out from there. There’s no right and wrong way to paint skulls and bones, just whatever suits the model you’re working on. Enhance this weathering my mixing some White Scar into the above paints and adding smaller patches. Troll Slayer Orange: an orange color that can provide complementary contrast to the warmth of Ushabti Bone.

The sword is made up for though by the really fantastic hat. The idea was “If a stupid mutated brute was told ‘You’re a knight’ I assume the first thing he’d do is demand a helmet”. It really looks very silly and captures the fun stuff I love about Nurgle. Hopefully I’ve given you some ideas on ways you can paint skulls and bone for your miniatures. You can certainly follow this exactly, use a combination of these techniques, or just use them as a guide and create your own method. Retributor Armour Gold– This paint is a metallic gold color that can be used to paint the details of miniatures, such as weapon, jewelry or armor. It can also be used as a highlight on the bones painted with Ushabti Bone to create a realistic aged look.

Painting Ghouls

In Vampire: The Masquerade, ghouls are humans who have been fed vampire blood. This turns them into the undead monsters we’re familiar with, and gives them some supernatural powers. In a similar fashion, the first Blade movie features a similar type of process, where ghouls are basically “failed vampires” where the process doesn’t take. Currently I’m working on a knight despoiler that’s been hanging out for far too long, here’s a peek behind the curtain:

The first method I’m using on the base of Roboute Guilliman to demonstrate it, and you can see more work on the base in the weekly April Hobby Challenge Posts. Note that some monsters (primarily those with no Slayer level required to damage) have a faux Slayer level applied for the purpose of calculating ushabti capture chance. These levels are listed on Slayer Codex, and are provided in the calculator below. GW's new range matches with the old range are the matches claimed by GW. However, many of the paints do not match very closely at all and some mixing will be required to get close to the original colours. If you are trying to match old GW with new GW, you'd be better just getting Vallejo game color or coat d'arms for the closest match ) http://www.wargamesfoundry.com - also do a range of similar to Citadel paints, will update when can get chance.

As with earlier stages, if you make a mistake, just correct it with some Ushabti Bone. Step 5 – Glaze The Armour Skitarii – Skitarii are a faction of the Adeptus Mechanicus, and Ushabti Bone is a great color to use for their robotic bodies and other details to create a natural, bone-like effect. If you want to add any extra definition in recesses, I would receommend doing a deep recess shade with some thin Dryad Bark and a thin brush. And that’s it for the standardized knight stuff! I really wanted the scheme to be simple so I can get past all the knight parts and focus on the weird stuff like skin and bones and diarrhea and pimples and such. For those here’s some recipes for some of the more common materials I work with This includes bears, blue dragons, cave crawlers, banshees, crawling hands, infernal mages, aberrant spectres, kurasks, desert lizards, zygomites, suqah, spiritual warriors, rangers and mages, jadinkos and tormented demons.
