There’s also a Closed Caption version in English, Italian and Norwegian Bokmål. These not only show dialogue but describe the important sounds so they help hearing impaired viewers get a better sense of what’s going on. If you’re a fish eater you’ve probably already eaten Norwegian smoked salmon, as it’s sold around the world, but if you want a bit of a twist try gravlaks instead. Gravlaks is salmon cured with salt, sugar and dill, often served with a mustard sauce. You’ll find it at a lot of breakfast buffets here. Herring

These days, Stratos is best known for its commercials featuring the bright blue happy cow you can see on the wrapper. Just look at those udders go… Frustrated early on but grew into game and second goal all about his delivery from corner. Kept driving forward without getting any joy in front of goal. Other fairy tales tell of how trolls and repelled by bells and, of course, this becomes a major plot point in Troll. The bells related to Christianity so those two themes are connected. We get a brief history that shows that the Christianisation of Norway was what did for the trolls originally as they were ruthlessly hunted down. If, like me, you like to hear the movie in its original form and read translated subtitles then you have the options of 34 languages English, Arabic, French, German, European and American Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. There are also many smaller languages such as Basque and Catalan, showing that Netflix care about bringing this experience to as many people as possible. Bamsemums are a popular treat for both children and adults alike. In addition to their delicious taste, they are also known for their cute appearance. Nidar Bamsemums are the perfect gift for any occasion and are sure to put a smile on any recipient’s face. The vast majority of chocolate on sale in most Norwegian stores comes from just two companies: Freia and Nidar. Of course, major brands like Mars, Twix and Kinder are also available on the shelves in Norway, but that's not what this article is about. Roar attended the Norwegian Film School in Innlandet and graduated in 2002. Starting his career strongly, his graduation film, The Martian Administration, was nominated for a Student Academy Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This was, in fact, only the second Norwegian student film in history to be nominated for this award. On my recent trip to Svalbard, I stumbled upon Fruene cafe which did a roaring trade in its homemade chocolate. I did my bit for the cause and tested out a couple. My favourite? The creamy white chocolate bar complete with polar bear print!

I will have caused outrage among my Norwegian readers for not starting with Freia's Kvikk Lunsj, the most iconic chocolate in Norway. It has such status because it's synonymous with the one true love of all Norwegians: the outdoors. I wasn’t going to include this on the list because tacos of course aren’t traditional Norwegian food. But Taco Friday is such a Norwegian institution these days that I decided it would be wrong to leave it out. No chance with opener and deceived by deflection on cross ahead of Larsen’s goal. Good save from Berge but caught out from cross at third goal.Launched in 1969, Freia's Toppris Kubbe is similar to the Toffee Crisp or Lion Bar. This chocolate bar is filled with light toffee and rice, so it's chewy with a slightly crispy texture to it. You can also go out on a king crab safari to sample the crab right from the net. I did this during my stay at the Kirkenes Snow Hotel and loved it. My mom is Norwegian so I grew up eating a lot of Norwegian food and am a big fan, but I’ll admit not all visitors to Norway agree with me. Apparently Norwegian food can be quite bland? And mostly white? And yes, a lot of vegetables are expensive and not of the highest quality. Are you excited yet to try the food in Norway yet? Overall, though, I was happy to sit and let the action wash over me, laugh at the silly jokes, marvel at the big monster and wait for them to tell me how exactly they were going to deal with this huge supernatural threat to the nation of Norway.

Troika is one of my favorite Norwegian chocolate bars. Sweet, but not too sweet, with dark chocolate, marcipan and gelly. Mmmm…. All of these characters have appeared in countless outings on the big screen, either alone or together. Most recently, 2021’s Godzilla vs Kong gave us an updated glimpse of what happens when two of these giant creatures get annoyed with each other! How to watch Troll around the world Malaco Skippers Pipes are a type of licorice candy that is popular among children. The candy is soft and chewy and comes in the shape of a pipe. Skipper’s Pipes were first introduced in 1920, and since then, they have been a favorite among kids. The candy is made with natural ingredients and does not contain any artificial colors or flavors. Clark saved well from Sander Berge as Norway chased a third. Scotland’s second-half showing, though, was an improvement on the first. A fourth goal would have boosted chances of Clarke’s men taking their place in pot two of the finals draw. It never really looked like arriving. Pot three is arguably the friendlier in any case. Freia Melkesjokolade, or Milk Chocolate is a Norwegian classic! This is the most sold chocolate in Norway since the 1960s, and is marketed as en liten bit av Norge (a small piece of Norway). Personally I find it creamy and sweet, and its definitely one of my favorite Norwegian chocolates!I’ll start by saying I found Troll to be entertaining enough, without blowing me away. It’s not really stretching the genre at all, and it’s not treading a new path except for the fact that it’s a Troll rather than a giant lizard or ape! You might choose to listen in your own language, and that’s fine too! There are dubs in English, Ukrainian, Polish, Hindi, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Spanish (European and American), Filipino, German, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Thai and Turkish. Yes it looks like a Kit Kat bar and yes, it tastes like a Kit Kat bar, but never, ever say this to a Norwegian. Kvikk Lunsj is Norway’s “hiking chocolate,” so if you go on any hikes here – which you should! – then definitely bring a couple of these with you. Before my trip I have made a list of food to try and my biggest disappointment was cardamom waffles – not because they weren’t good. It’s because they does not exist! 😉 I have tried to buy some waffles in town, precisely: Lillehammer, Alesund, Andalsnes, Geiranger, Flam, Bergen, Stavanger, Arendal, Tonsberg, to name a few and NOWHERE I could find waffles. It was easier to find trolls. 😉

It was engineer Jørgen Holmsen who discovered the ‘airy' Aero chocolate bar at a trade fair in Germany, and returned to the Nidar factory to try to create something similar. There has also a peanut version round and about called ‘Peanøtt Kubbe' although I haven't seen it for a while. The peanut taste is much more overpowering than the rice of the original. However, I'm not sure whether that's because that's the genuine taste, or because I really don't like peanuts very much! Troika Twist is a popular Norwegian chocolate that combines the rich flavor of dark or milk chocolate with the sweetness of caramels. The result is a delicious treat that has something for everyone. Twist is perfect for those who crave both sweet and savory flavors, and its unique texture is sure to please. It’s a treat that is found in many Norwegian homes, and every Norwegian got his or hers favorite piece. If you’re traveling to Norway I’d recommend you to try out some delicious Norwegian chocolate. Here are three types from Freia, which are famous for their Melkesjokolade (milk chocolate) and Kvikk Lunsj. I’ve also listed Stratos and Smash from Nidar, one of the largest distributors of sweets to Norwegians.
