Climate Seal is not a storm or prime replacement window. It is a Magnetic Interior Insulating Window that installs within or over the existing window cavity, yet it’s performance rivals or exceeds prime replacement windows, for much less cost! There are a few reasons why single pane windows don’t insulate well. First, they don’t have a layer of air between the panes of glass, which acts as an insulator. Second, the glass itself is a good conductor of heat, meaning that it doesn’t take much for heat to transfer through it. Applying weather sealing tape is not a complicated task. In fact, the fact that it’s such a simple process is what draws many of us to it. However, there are a couple of pointers that you can keep in mind, for seamless application and a frustration-free experience. Measure your area The best advantage of their usage is the prevention of airflow. Consequently, curtains will hold warm air inside your home during a cold period of the year and keep the house cool during the summer. Plus, they will reduce outside sounds and improve the beauty of your room thanks to different colors and designs. Aluminium windows do tend to be more expensive than uPVC due to a higher cost of materials and manufacturing. However, when you consider that aluminium is less likely to degrade than uPVC, it can be a more cost-effective solution in the long run. Four key areas

Always fit your secondary glazing to your main window frame, not to the opening part of the window. Removable magnetic window insulation is a great option if you’re looking for an easy way to add insulation to your home. It’s also a great choice if you’re renting and can’t make any permanent changes to your home. This type of insulation is also relatively inexpensive and can be found at most hardware stores.

Temporary secondary glazing can also make it difficult to access your windows for cleaning and ventilation while it’s in place. Without the full benefit of comprehensive secondary glazing, it might be better to simply do nothing and wait for a permanent solution. Semi-Permanent Secondary Glazing What it is Aluminium secondary glazing is a strong, long-lasting and high-performing option. It’s thermally efficient, noise reducing and very secure. Impressive durability and heat retention provide a great return on investment with savings on energy bills, making aluminium secondary glazing a cost-effective option. This film acts as a barrier to heat transfer, and can help keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. You can also apply a special coating to the glass, which will reflect heat away from your home. Heat moving through an object (i.e. heat will travel through an aluminium, or steel frame more easily than through a timber or PVC frame). Thermal curtains and blinds are one of the best ways to insulate windows —and providing you buy good quality products, they should also prevent rooms from overheating in the summer months.

Then, press the bubble side of the wrap to the moist window. If you have a problem with placing it, you can add some glycerin to the water. Before you begin, scrape away any peeling old paint or caulk, then use a caulking gun to neatly apply new silicone caulk. 3. Try Window Film Temporary secondary glazing is a reasonable option if you’re looking for a short-term solution. Let’s say your primary windows are being replaced, but you need something to improve the efficiency of the existing windows for the time being. We supply clear as glass acrylic for secondary glazing because it is lighter yet much stronger (17 x ) than glass and provides near perfect optical clarity. The Magnetite subframe is foam PVC and acts as a thermal break between the existing window and the Magnetite secondary system. This sub-frame also allows Magnetite to attach to any existing window frame - timber, aluminium, or steel. The acrylic glazing panels used by Magnetite are up to six times more thermally efficient than glass. Solar control films may also be applied to windows requiring reduction in radiant heat. We apply a film to the inside layer of the existing glass. By having the film on the inside of the existing window we are able to reflect the heat before it enters the air cavity for maximum performance. You will need a caulk gun to squeeze the sealant into the gaps along the exterior window edge or a shooter foam gun if you choose to apply expansion foam. Once you have the film, applying it is a simple process. First, clean the window surface with a glass cleaner. Next, cut the film to size and apply it to the window.
