Description

The Wilks-USA RX550i High Power Pressure Washer is an electric motor with the advantages of a copper wound brushless motor – less heat generation and a smaller size. This helps with the production of an impressive maximum 3800 psi of water pressure, putting this washer on a par with some petrol models. Along with the moderate 510 l/h water flow, this adds up to significant cleaning power. Starting up the engine was no bother and it sparked into life with a single pull on the cord as long as I used the choke correctly and removed the water pressure from the lance each time. Here’s a short video of that and it shows just how important it is to remove the water pressure by pulling the lance trigger:

If you need a lot of power to clean a large area outside your house, this pressure washer from Wilks Tx625 will not let you down. This cheap power washer is great for people who would rather do regular light tidying up instead of waiting for cleanups to become big jobs. If that’s you, then you don’t really need a high powered pressure washer. The Bosch Professional GHP 5-65 High-Pressure Washer has the power, features and quality that qualify it as a commercial power washer. This electric washer produces 2320 psi of water pressure with a moderate flow rate of 520 l/h. With the usual high quality of Bosch power appliances, especially the anodised aluminium and stainless steel of the pump, this washer can support your new cleaning business well.In terms of assembly, this pressure washer is easy to set up; it can be assembled in just a couple of minutes. This is where your budget comes most into play. The range of pressure, measured in bars, goes from 90 bars to around 180 bars for household pressure washer models.

Then make sure you release built up pressure from the jet first – if you watch my short video you’ll see on the second pull I forgot to squeeze the lance trigger to remove the pressure. On the third pull I did so and it went straight away. If you follow these instructions it’ll start first time with no hassle at all. Don’t follow these instructions and it will not stat so easily! I called up the manufacturer and amazingly they helped me through this – I wish I read the instructions better though as it was clearly highlighted! The first step is setting the throttle to quite low, this is your steel bar you can see in the diagram below. Then turn on the choke or cold as it’s labelled and set the fuel switch to on pretty obviously: For car cleaning, you’ll want a relatively low pressure of around 100 – 130 bar; therefore, most petrol pressure washers are unsuitable for this. Using a higher bar pressure risks damaging the paintwork, so it’s not something I’d recommend! Since the nozzles are made of ceramic they can last a lifetime with no risk of eroding. A convenient storage space on the frame will keep them handy and ready to go.Where this petrol pressure washer really comes into its own is in the number of functional accessories provided. A straight and curved lance come included, meaning you can unclog gutters without having to use a ladder and clean under car wheel arches too. But be aware that you can always change the nozzle of your power washer to make the water stream more powerful. And several of the models we review also have an adjustable water pressure feature. The four nozzles included with this power washer are one for when you use the detergent option and three that spray water in different degrees of fan shapes – 0° (straight out), 15° (narrow fan) and 40°(wide fan). A 9 metre length of pressure hose is included, but you may need to extend this or replace it with a longer hose if you find it a little short, however, at just under 30ft long, it’s not too short for most jobs either. Pros The major difference is psi. Petrol engines can produce higher psi levels than electric motors and therefore petrol powered pressure washers are better at cleaning up hard to shift materials like oil and grease. You will also get a nozzle adapter, patio cleaner, detergent bottle, cleaning gun, rotary brush, etc., which will be handy for you at cleaning.
