Like the Legion of Blood, Vykros get two exclusive Heroic actions. One however is a once per battle action, which allows you to summon 10 Direwolves with the normal placement restrictions. You’ll note later that Radukar no longer has the once per battle ability to also do this. Finally the Standard of the Ulfenwatch lets you roll a dice whenever your opponent spends a CP, on a 4+ you gain a CP. Given the pressure on your heroic actions, this can get you a good command economy going. Amethystine Pinions is a nice spell that gives the caster +6 to their movement, which is great considering some of these casters already have a decent move value! No changes here, Halgrim was probably the least interesting of the Cursed City heroes and i’d probably always gamble for a run roll than use his ability, so I’m glad they have not reduced him further.

Let's start by taking a look at the skeletal hordes known as the Ossiarch Bonereapers. Unlike other undead armies of Nagash, the Ossiarch Bonereapers are fashioned to be a strong, resilient, unquestioning army that grinds the world before them down into dust. The profile has now been split into two to represent mounted and unmounted. Beheading Strike now does a mortal wound on a hit of 6 rather than extra damage, with the mounted version doing D3 mortal wounds on the charge with a roll of 2+. Command ability is not as good as it was, now only allowing rerolls of hit rolls of 1 (Looks like there is currently a typo here too, as it states it is used in the hero phase and lasts until the end of that phase!) Another new addition to the Gravelords, like with the other Vyrkos characters she counts as the general in addition to the army general. She’s pretty resistant with a 4+ wound shrug and the ability to fully heal if she kills a model in a phase making her pretty hard to shift. These cunning artificers are the latest addition to the disciplined ranks of the Ossiarch hosts. Katakros and his underlings have been busy refining their tactics, sharpening their nadirite, and practising their magics to conquer the Mortal Realms for the Supreme Lord of the Undead. The disciplined armies of the Ossiarch Bonereapers are among the most formidable martial forces in the Mortal Realms. They exert control over their empire by reaping a tithe of bones from the inhabitants. Battletome: Ossiarch Bonereapers contains updated rules, warscrolls, pitched battle profiles, and new Path to Glory rules. After 10,000 years in absentia, the Lion is returning . Before he brings his knightly prowess to the 41st Millennium, there’s still time to brush up on your knowledge of the confusing history of the Dark Angels. This week’s episode of Loremasters digs into the lore of the Unforgiven – the name given to both the Dark Angels, and their more infamous successor Chapters. There’s also a T’au Empire special on Citadel Colour Masterclass . To gather these resources, the Ossiarch Bonereapers demand a Tithe of Bone from the living they descend upon. First, they will demand this tribute be paid without use of force. The living can rob graveyards, perform ritual self-mutiliation to remove their own bones, hold a sacrifice lottery, or any other means to provide the bones. If the Bonereapers receive what they asked, they move on. But if they’ve been denied, or feel they’ve been shorted, they’ll take the bones they require by force. How Has The Era Of The Beast Impacted The Ossiarch Bonereapers? The cadaverous constructs that make up the Ossiarch Bonereapers are designed and realised by the bone-crafting Mortisans. Of this artisan class, the Mortisan Ossifectors are dedicated to creating the most complex and formidable war machines – from lumbering Gothizzar Harvesters and Morghast Achai to terrifying Mortek Crawlers . Not only are the Avengorii twisted in body, but their minds also become increasingly deranged over time. Other bloodlines see them as debased, but they know they’re just a hair’s breadth away from becoming just like them. It is worth noting at this point that points have increased across the board for the Soulblight Gravelords. As you’ll read in my summary shortly, I believe the book is a big improvement on the last one, which explains the points increases. We’ll soon see when people start playing with the new book if the points increases work out good value. Summary

Mannfred von Carstein’s endless pursuit of power has made his vampiric vassals ambitious and arrogant. The Legion of Night prefer to use hordes of the undead to slow the enemy down and act as bait, while powerful vampires sweep in to claim glory once they sense an easy kill. As with the throne not much has changed here – the Wail of the damned follows the same rules as the new Mortis Engine and a Fine Vintage now only affects vampires making this really only good for a more vampire heavy build. I really like this mix of different bloodlines and feels it will give us some variety in the armies that we see, though I do think at the moment Vrykos looks the strongest of the 5The trusty old Terrorghiest is still as good as he has ever been with no profile changes, still doing those delicious 6 mortal wounds on a hit of 6 for it’s maw. However they have had a small 5 points bump in cost. Can now be taken as Battleline in an Avengorii army The generic version of the horrific new vampire-dragon-thing, the Vengorian Lord has a similar profile to the named version with a decent combat statline, a -1 rend aura and the chance of being able to run and charge at the cost of not using command abilities. Speaking of command abilities, their Festering Feast is a nice way of topping up the wounds of your monsters as it restores D6 wounds to any Soulblight Gravelords unit that has destroyed and enemy units. Finally their spell Clotted Deluge gives you +1 to wound against a target unit. As someone wanting to dabble with a monster mash list, I really like this guy! Also infuriating got a huge nerf in this book when the others as bonereapers, goblins, slanesh or khorne got HUGE buffs acrosa the boards but vampires only got nerfs across the board in everything Vengorian Lord: Now dishes out more consistent damage, mainly thanks to his Gore-drenched Talons doing flat 3 damage now instead of D6 (a better trade off I think). He’s lost his run and charge, but has gained a new ability called Festering Feast. Should a Soulblight Monster kill any units whilst within 12″ of this Lord, once per turn you can heal all wounds to your monster. Radukar The Wolf/Beast: Some minor changes, with the Beast still being…well…a Beast. Can no longer summon a free unit of Wolves as discussed earlier in the review. He can however now move D6″ at the end of any phase in which he took damage.

The leader of the Crimson Court has a fairly usual Vampire profile, but his spell is pretty good, giving a target unit +1 to hit. Sadly the rest of the Crimson Court are not that exciting. I was expecting a unit of heroes (Or maybe 4 different heroes that could be taken separately) unfortunately at a total of 4 wounds for the other 3 models I can’t see them managing to do a lot before they are taken off the board. I’ll be most likely using these as Vampire Lords! Manfredd was deleted, losing the +1 hit and +1 wound aura and the teleport and is useless and obercosted by 100 points now I wanted a theme for my force and decided on “the Dark Hunt”, a core of Vampires and Blood Knights supported by other creatures of the night, all fast-moving, which let me lean into the hunting idea. I started this month with the vampires. The book also contains some painting advice for painting your own Vampires, Zombies and Direwolves Allegiance AbilitiesCoven throme losh the cp of +1 hit +1 wound and +1 save that is a HUGE nerf and u didnt said anithing.
