Her father Al gave up his teaching job to bake with her and they have now opened their own shop and written a book Really beautiful story with an inspiring and important message. If you read this be sure to Google the bakery afterwards and see how far it has come!

Abbey Clancy, 37, enjoys a family day out to Thorpe Park with rarely seen lookalike sister Elle, 26 Kaley Cuoco dishes out a treat as she dresses daughter Matilda in FIVE adorable outfits for her first Halloween Kitty is the first to admit she has an obsessive streak. Not long ago, she “had a fling” with carrots: she was eating a bag a day, pretty much. Eventually her skin started turning orange, a harmless condition called carotenemia. “I thought you’d been using fake tan, which is very unlike you!” says her mum, Katie. “It really reminded me of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with the child who turned into a blueberry.” I really enjoyed Breadsong, though it certainly highlights a very particular kind of Britishness. I feel like things would have played out very differently in other parts of the country, without the opportunities encountered here. That said, this is a really uplifting and inspiring read - it was wonderful to see the village rally round the family, and to hear about a young girl discovering and developing her passion. It made me want to reach for my bread flour and immediately start experimenting!Kitty faded from being the “funny, chatty one”, as Al describes her in their new book, Breadsong: How Baking Changed Our Lives, into “a diminished version of herself… subdued, distracted, pale and sad-looking”. There was no warning, and no apparent cause. One of Kitty and Al’s “miracle overnight white loaves” (Photo: Mark Lord) Kitty laughs to break the emotion. “Partner in crime!” she says in a sarcastic voice, before turning serious again. “And I love that.” Al’s life has changed radically, too: he is now a full-time baker, a career switch he had never anticipated before Kitty’s illness. This isn’t the first book about the therapeutic qualities of baking; ten years ago, the best-selling author Marian Keyes, who has suffered from debilitating depression, wrote a charming cookery book called Saved By Cake. The second half of Breadsong is a collection of Kitty’s favourite recipes, from miracle overnight white loaf to her signature blondies with a Marmite glaze. From heartthrob to hair flop! Gerard Butler, 53, sports an unflattering blond hairpiece as he films new crime thriller In The Hand Of Dante in Rome

A friend suggested they try doing a pop-up shop and Kitty spent 24 hours feverishly making bread and pastries. Everything sold in under half an hour and the shop became a regular Saturday event. For all the solace she found in baking, Kitty’s mental health was still very fragile, so Al gave up his teaching job to be with her and assist full-time with the baking. The whole family rallied round to support the enterprise, even though they could barely move through the kitchen for all her new baking equipment. ‘Kitty was the Formula 1 racing driver and we were her pit crew,’ Al writes.People don’t understand that it [leaving school] wasn’t a decision,” she says. “All of it was on the basis of survival. I couldn’t go to school. I couldn’t be alone.”

Kerry becomes the fourth contestant to leave Big Brother 2023: NHS Manager is EVICTED after Noky and Trish's nominations were revealedHelen Flanagan's daughterMatilda, seven, hilariously lets slip her mum is dating again - one year after she split from ex Scott Sinclair Ariana Grande and Elizabeth Gillies dress as Nomi Malone and Cristal Conners from Showgirls... 10 years after starring on Victorious I actually finished reading the memoir part of this book a couple of weeks ago - the day I received it in fact. But I had to wait until I had baked a couple of the recipes before I could do a legit review! Megan Thee Gremlin! Stallion rapper looks sexy in glittered bralette as she goes green as Greta from highly-popular 1990s horror-comedy for Halloween

I am so glad that this book is going to be published later this month as I am looking forward to owning my own hard copy. I also know what I will be buying friends and family for Christmas! Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this story in exchange for an honest review. I’m not a good cook but was inspired to have a go..rustic was the response at my friday family table..not a piece left on any plate..even my 3 year old grandsonHeidi Klum tantalisingly reveals just PART of her Halloween look after weeks of speculation... so what WILL the queen of the costumes dress as? I baked myself better! 14-year-old Kitty Tait was deeply depressed — until her dad suggested baking. The effect was transformative: her shop’s a hit and her bread sells out in minutes This to me is the journey a father made with his daughter and how baking really helped her. Kitty and Al start baking for themselves and gradually that grows till they open the Orange Bakery and with this book we follow that journey. Adding to the charm of this book, the photographs are beautifully shot and many clearly show the humor of this family. I enjoyed getting to see the shop that had been described. I'll definitely be adding a copy of this book to my cookbook shelf when it's published!
