Not a total loss, he has some great lines in here and the interview podcast with his mother might be worth the price of admission alone. Him not narrating the book when his name is listed first in the narrated by feels like a cheap shot. He dropped the ball, don’t list your name first when you did less then 5% of the narration. On the one hand, it's an inspiring story of a man who has overcome a lifetime of struggle and proved that you can do anything if you're willing to push yourself. In the first half of the book especially this was a message that resonated with me and made me think about David Goggins as a man to look up to.

I’m a respect-the-masses populist, after all. Though the masses may in their modern woke fashion diss him. A prophet is NEVER respected in his own country! The things that we decide to run from are the truth. When you make excuses, you’re running from the truth.” —David Goggins [21]David Goggins on How He Became Unstoppable and Doing the Unthinkable | Impact Theory.” YouTube, 11 May 2021, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Swj8GIIivXs. This book will make you feel extremely guilty for skipping your workout. Ever. I think people who run the 26-mile marathons are out of their minds. I had no idea what levels of athletic lunacy are out there, like running on broken legs or running 100 miles in 36 hours in the hottest place on earth in July. David Goggins, after losing 109 pounds in three months, managed to become a Navy SEAL. After that, he just kept looking for new ways to challenge his body as a way to harden his mind.

This book should be called ‘How I got famous for making really stupid decisions that ruined my relationships, body, and mental health.’I love and admire Goggins's passion, grit, and resilience. His ability to push past discomfort to be all that he can be is astounding. I know I am raving about this book like crazy, but it really was life changing. Like, OH MY GOSH!!! That’s how it works when you’re trying to change. The call to remain complacent will only from louder until you silence it with a pattern of behaviour that leaves no doubt about your mission.” (Pg. 142) Goggins was not meant to amount to much. He was supposed to become another statistic. Instead, through sheer work ethic and will power, he became a Navy Seal, motivational speaker, and athlete. This is not your typical self-help book. I love reading self-help books like this because you know they came from a person who has lived through the struggle. He is a living example of everything he talks about in this book. Kader, Abdul. “When David Goggins Disagreed with an MIT Professor.” ILLUMINATION, 30 Nov. 2021, https://medium.com/illumination/when-david-goggins-disagreed-with-an-mit-professor-145d062130fa.

David Goggins is a badass! A word I personally feel is too frequently and too casual offered as a descriptor but incredibly fitting here, talking about him. ⁣ I read somewhere that kids brought up in toxic households get addicted to the toxicity. Its very clear the intense trauma he went through during his childhood had massive influence in creating this extreme and polarising personality. Its all credit to him that channelled all the dark energy and negative emotion into achieving incredible feats. The pain and fear that most dread is what he aspires to get through daily to test his mental resilience.

Can’t Hurt Me Challenge #9

Identify and accept your weaknesses. We all like to do things we are good at. He recommends finding our weaknesses and working on what make us uncomfortable. If we’re doing great at work and are healthy physically and with our personal relationships, learn a new language or something else to continue to grow.

HURT 100 Results (100 Miles)". ultrarunning.com. Archived from the original on January 26, 2023 . Retrieved January 26, 2023. Can’t believe where the book ended up - so close to an accurate portrayal of judgment before God. Yet so far. He’s a man desperately in need of healing and forgiveness. But he doesn’t seem to know it at all. David Goggins discusses a major lesson he learned in Navy SEAL training: everything in life can be a mind game, and that all pain eventually ends. He says that many people in Navy SEAL training don’t understand that it’s a mind game, and they end up quitting. It is very easy to live with “victim’s mentality” and hide behind excuses and blame someone else for the way your life is. What is hard is to take responsibility for your life and work towards a better life and David has shown us by the way he had changed his life narrative.David always wanted to become ‘Uncommon amongst uncommon crowd’ and he ended up becoming a trailblazer!!! I instantly know this is a book I will read again, and again—and that is a truly rare thing to find. Thank you David Goggins for being willing and able to share your life and put so much effort into its final format. #NeverFinished Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds" is an incredibly inspiring and motivating book that left a lasting impact on me. David Goggins' life story is nothing short of extraordinary, and his ability to overcome immense challenges is truly awe-inspiring.
