The life of the addict is not just grey and monotonous – waiting for the man, from fix to fix – it’s perilous. Assuring the reader over and over again how much they enjoyed themselves and how much fun it was, although all of them cannot remember huge blocks of time. The project will be a joint-venture production between HBO, Rough House Pictures and Vertigo Entertainment. As he was being wheeled out on a stretcher to an ambulance, he propped himself up on emaciated elbows and shouted "It's the food! It’s a dispassionate ledger of his own life at this time, an addict who deals heroin and steals to make enough money to feed his habit.

Hellraisers: The Life and Inebriated Times of Richard Burton

You know you shouldn't but you just can't keep from looking and at the same time being glad you're not a victim. I feel like I read one of the stories twice when Oliver Reed put perfume into someones drink and made them sick.Utterly insane tales of drunken debauchery from some of your favorite actors is what this book sets out to provide, and for the most part, succeeds in. Except for Reed, their careers began on the British stage, before all four were lured to Hollywood, starring in such classics as Lawrence of Arabia (O'Toole), Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Joey manages to reunite Spencer and Pinhead, fusing them back into one entity, and is able to use the puzzle box to send Pinhead back to his dimension. We meet “affluent worker” Arthur Seaton as he necks 13 pints of beer before spewing up over a couple of other pub-goers. One of the pitches involved Michael Myers opening the Lament Configuration as a child and being possessed by Samhain fleeing from Hell, and the Cenobites pursuing him in the present day.

Pinhead decides to release her, but he and his followers are killed by Channard, who has become a Cenobite himself. What makes them awesome is not the amount of liquor they can drink or the women they can bed, but that they can function not only like human beings but like talented actors. And the horrors of cold turkey – “like ants were crawling under the skin” – when you end up in jail. The revelation of Pinhead's humanity has resulted in a schism, splitting him into two separate parts: his human self, World War I veteran Elliot Spencer, and Pinhead, now a living embodiment of Spencer's id. O'Toole is the one I knew the least about but if there's a redeemable guy in this foursome, Peter was forced to quit drinking early and feels the most harmless. The author appears to be indifferent to the boozy troublemakers’ victims or wanton destruction beyond it being great material for a book. Burton went that route with Liz Taylor, and she comes out of this book looking like a booze-soaked old hag. The drinking stories become overwhelming after a while and I desired to read individual bios of Burton, Harris, and O'Toole (but not Reed) with more fleshed-out portrayals.
