Like all sensory play, sensory bottles are a really useful tool for promoting a sense of wonder and encouraging children to use their senses to explore and discover. They can also help with the development of fine motor skills when children are involved in making the bottles, and language and social skills when shared. Hopefully, this will help guide you to choose the perfect materials and ingredients to make the sensory bottle you really want! They are wonderful tools to use at home or in the car, and in the classroom. Plus, they are a great addition to a preschool curriculum. Aside from the sensory element, this engaging science activity is also effective for teaching the concepts of colour (for younger children) and density (for older children). By using different densities, the two colours are able to mix to form a new colour and then separate again. But beyond the science, they are beautiful to look at and simply mesmerising.

Standard tubes change colour all by themselveswith no user interaction whilst Interactive uses a wireless switch so colours can be changed allowing choice of colours.Userscan also stop and start the bubbles. This Voss Water, 11.2 oz. is the smalles size and perfect for all ages. I highly recommended it for any sensory bottles that use liquid.Just adding them to water can be a really engaging activity. As they expand in size and suspend in water or oil, the water beads appear to blur and bounce around. It’s really quite hypnotic, and lots of fun! Baby Oil – This is mostly scented mineral oil. It is available at the dollar store usually. I want to try the oil gel soon! This rainbow sensory bottle with water beads from Ryan & Marsha is another way to enjoy them. Of course you could make any pattern of colours you like, but in this case the rainbow effect is really mesmerising, particular when held up to the light. Mineral Oil – This will slightly slow down whatever you have in your bottle. Items such as glitter will slow down a bit more. Mineral oil is also my “go to” solution for magnets and metallic items. Here’s my magnetic discovery bottle in mineral oil.

They can be used in homes, schools, and care homes by users of any age and ability, as they can be used by a range of controllers (ex. our IRiS Talker products). Tonic Water – Make something glow in the dark! Here’s one from Fun at Home with Kids, and she tells you the exact one to make it look clear in light. Bubble tubes are the most popular sensory product. Watch the bubbles rise through the water creating a trail of colour moving at different speeds whilst the column gently hums and creates vibration. The columns vary in lengthand soft plinths are available to cover the base so users can cuddle the column. Add a few drops of water-based food colouring to the water. Then put the lid onto the bottle and shake it to mix the colour into the water.Sensory bottles of calm, sensory toys for kids, sensory jar, calm down bottle, Autism birthday gift, for Autistic child, calming bottle VOSS water bottles are beautiful and sleek! The silver lid just gives it the perfect finishing touch. My rainbow discovery bottle is made from a VOSS water bottle. Oh and the water is super yummy too! Dry Candy – I love this conversation heart bottle from Sunny Day Family and this fall pumpkin one from Modern Preschool. Corn Syrup – Corn syrup will slow objects down quite a bit. Make sure your objects are super clean! My alphabet discovery bottle is made of corn syrup.

They also make a great craft activity and are simple to make. The best bit is that the overall purpose of a sensory bottle is entirely open to your child to determine. They can explore textures, colours and contents by shaking, rolling and up-ending the bottle. Or, alternatively, use it to calm down and as a meditation tool. How cool is that?!Experia have a range of controllers catering for a large range ofabilities, specifically designed so users can get the most benefits from the experience - these are our iRiS Talkers. Water – Almost anything! Just don’t add magnets or anything metallic to this one or else it will rust.

The bottle is like your lens. The shape and clarity are important as well as the size and sturdiness. Using a sensory room environment is a great way to engage and interact with the audience you areworking with and including a bubble tube into your sensory environment can be very beneficial for this. Our calming, interactive, and IRiS bubble tubesare diverse and can be used in almost any environment with almost any user. When emotions become too much, having something to help your child calm down is a great idea. And the actual act of making sensory bottles or calm down jars is in itself a wonderful activity! Discover how you can make different styles of sensory bottles at home with our round-up below. Sparkling ICE bottles are nice and smooth and a great option for a sensory bottle. My alphabet discovery bottle is made from one. Other containers that are perfect for this are ones that once contained food. Peanut butter jars or similar work really well. This set of 3 Colormix Sensory Tubes helps children focus their attention, practise quiet, calm engagement, and manage their emotions. Resistance Tunnel, Compression Sensory Tunnel,Spandex Play,For Kids or Adults,Balance and Coordination,Educational,Home Decor.Gift Christmas Elmer’s Clear Glue – This is a great calm down jar ingredient and also great for slow-falling objects I love using liquid ingredients! These are all of the ones that I have used and what they are perfect for. Keep in mind that anything metallic or magnetic will rust if you don’t put it in the proper liquid.
