Superstar Writer/Artist Frank Miller Return to Batman!". DC Comics. April 24, 2015. Archived from the original on July 26, 2015. Melrose, Kevin (August 22, 2011). "Relaunched Wonder Woman is 'a horror book,' Brian Azzarello says". Comic Book Resources. Archived from the original on August 31, 2012 . Retrieved May 23, 2012.

In a 2016 interview, Brian Azzarello has mentioned that he hopes for his Joker graphic novel to someday receive an animated film adaptation. Visto desde los ojos de su nuevo esbirro, nos percatamos de una nueva visión del malvado villano, posiblemente, esa que sólo sus más fieles seguidores son capaces de ver.

Includes the "Silencer Night" short story (art by Eduardo Risso) from Vertigo: Winter's Edge #3 (anthology, 2000)

IGN Comics: Fans have been waiting to see Joker for quite some time. I know you do quite a bit of cover work for Marvel and DC, but are there any other upcoming projects you can mention at this time? The Joker is one of the great Batman villains. While others from Penguin to Two Face are to be considered dangerous criminals, none match the Joker for sheer bloody minded havoc. Johnston, Rich (August 20, 2015). "Brian Azzarello And Simon Bisley's Three Floyds Hits In November From Heavy Metal". Bleeding Cool. Archived from the original on August 22, 2015.Azzarello was one of the architects of First Wave, a new publishing line for pulp characters then-recently acquired by DC Comics, set outside the main DC continuity. He wrote the opening one-shot for the line, Batman/Doc Savage, [20] continuing with the First Wave limited series. [21] In 2011, Azzarello spearheaded The New 52 relaunch of the Wonder Woman series with artist Cliff Chiang. [22] The pair stayed on the title until issue #35 (Dec. 2014). In 2012, Azzarello wrote two limited series for the Before Watchmen project, focusing on Comedian and Rorschach. [23] [24] In 2014, Azzarello became the co-writer of the weekly series The New 52: Futures End along with Jeff Lemire, Keith Giffen and Dan Jurgens. [25] In terms of content, I still firmly believe that most people don't want to be force fed the same thing over and over. Comic readers often get labeled as a public that doesn't accept change well, but I think that comic readers are very accepting of drastic differences. You can have a guy who loves Dark Knight, but maybe wants to still see a very animated looking Batman in his comics. I think it tends to be the rest of the public that looks at comics, specifically those that have been turned into movies, and wonders why they're not seeing the same thing they just saw on the screen. Hopefully that will change as well, now that people have seen more than one version of a number of popular characters.

Interview With Writer Brian Azzarello - The 100 Bullets author sits down with Dan Phillips to talk about developing this project. Bermejo: Still probably a bit too early to talk about the next project in any kind of detail, but I can say that I'm working on another graphic novel for DC and it features prominently some of the main characters. I can also safely say that it is a much different project content-wise than Joker. I wrote this graphic novel so it will be my first foray into stewarding a project completely myself. So far it's been a challenging but extremely exciting endeavor!

Gerding, Stephen (August 16, 2019). "DC Solicitations for November 2019 Introduce a New Green Lantern to the DCU". CBR.com. Archived from the original on August 17, 2019. It takes me about two years to do these projects, more or less. It was the same for the Luthor project, and that mini-series really took it out of me. Brian has talked plenty about how we had no interest in working together and it was pretty true. We had both decided to move on do other things, but the discussion we had about the Joker really intrigued me. I already had an idea of how I wanted to interpret the character, even while Brian and I were still working on Lex. In fact, if you look closely at the newspaper Lex is reading in issue #3, there is a photo of my Joker there! When the timing and opportunity to finally do it came up, it just seemed like the logical choice. IGN Comics: What were the critical themes and emotions to draw out for the reader in the book? Does a book focusing on the Joker fundamentally change how you might approach a similar Batman-based project? Spider-Man's Tangled Web #14: "The Last Shoot" (co-written by Azzarello and Scott Levy, art by Giuseppe Camuncoli, anthology, 2002)
