Can be difficult to put out if you're ready to be done before the fire has burned out - it's best to make a fire if you have at least an hour to enjoy it!

What a great review! I didn’t realize it was so versatile, I have seen the solo in ads but didn’t realize what a nice size it is. I thought it was much smaller. I also really like how portable it is and that it doesn’t burn up the grass/ground. Reply The cooking ring has three tabs folded at 90° which protrude up from the body a bit. When cooking, a pot or pan rests on top of the tabs allowing for plenty of airflow and heat to circulate underneath.

My Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 delivers on its promise of a nearly smokeless fire, providing a more pleasant and comfortable outdoor experience—perfect if you despise the odor of smokey hair and clothes. Breeo is the leading Solo Stove alternative and their main competitor in the smokeless wood-burning fire pit game. I decided conduct a series of tests for my Solo Stove review to answer some of the common questions and concerns people have about these fire pits. The first was to test the smokeless claims. If you’re using seasoned firewood, you’ll get smoke when you start your fire, but you’ll have a smoke-free fire once it gets going. Then, as the fire burns down, you’ll have a little smoke. The price for any consumer good is a complex balance of the cost to produce it, the quality of the materials, and how much consumers are willing to pay for it. Ask any Solo Stove owner about their biggest gripe 6 months ago, and transporting it would have likely been near the top. Thankfully, Solo Stove heard and made a handle for each size! There were a couple on Etsy, but it's nice to now have the quality and style of the handle match your stove!

The overall construction of the Solo Stove Campfire portable camp stove and its build quality are impressive. From the brushed steel exterior to the rounded edges on the bottom, the stove itself feels smartly designed and virtually indestructible.

These stainless steel fire pits give off very little smoke and ash by creating an environment where the fire burns super hot. There’s also a Solo Stove grill, a range of camp stoves, and many Solo Stove accessories to complement these gadgets. The Solo Stove Pot 4000 has a whopping 4000ml capacity (4.22 quarts)! That makes it perfect for one-pot family camp meals.

Once the fire builds up you can easily see that the flames come up around the side of the pot. These flames could easily melt or burn plastic insulated handles, so you want to be careful what pots you cook with on the stove. The handle will also get hot so be sure you have something to grab to the handle with without burning your hand. It’s a portable, efficient, and durable camping stove that fires up fast for your evening fire. Plus, it’s well-designed and completely smokeless.

We could sure use this for our travel trailer – most firepits are way too big to travel with so we have foregone the fire pit experience. Now that we are camping close to the grandkids it would be a wonderful piece to have. Reply Solo stoves are not only a fire pit, but an awesome addition to your campfire cooking kit. While cooking over an open flame isn’t the best option using a Solo stove, the brand offers plenty of cooking accessories that can do the job.The next test was to see how easy it is to cook over the Solo Stove. I initially used the grate off my charcoal grill, which happened to fit the Solo Stove perfectly. I boiled water and toasted bread to test both ends of the fire cooking spectrum—heat and finesse. I found cooking over the solo stove a lot like cooking over any wood-burning fire pit. It takes skill, but it’s very doable. Especially if instead of cooking over flames, you burn down logs to coals and then begin the cooking process. The set we got came with the stand – this is the piece of metal that the firepit can be set down on to reduce damage to the ground underneath, and I’d say it’s something you should definitely buy with it if you plan on taking it camping. What the Solo Stove Campfire is super famous for is its patented double-wall construction. It creates an airflow between the walls of the stove. This airflow, combined with the unique design of the bottom vents, creates secondary combustion. which results in a more efficient burn (so there’s very little smoke when burning at full capacity) and less ash and soot. In my experience, it takes perseverance to get a good fire going, and lighter fluid is usually a godsend.
