I stumbled across a comment from someone who swears by using white gouache instead of writing out to correct any mistakes she made with a ballpoint pen.

It is important to note that this method may not work for all types of ink and paper. Some inks may be more difficult to remove, and certain types of paper may be more sensitive to rubbing alcohol. It is always best to test a small, inconspicuous area of the paper first before attempting to remove the stain.Note: In all testing the erasing/removing was stopped once the paper started to become damaged. Any pilling, sloughing, shedding or other damage caused that part of the test to be stopped. While researching white gouache, I came across this great article at Comic Tools where he recommends a product called White Out by Deleter which, when dried, can be drawn over almost as well as paper. The Bic wite-out correction pen is fantastic for intricate corrections, but if you want to cover up a larger area, then we recommend trying the Tombow Mono Correction Tape Hybrid Style. Continue blotting until the ink stain is removed. You may need to repeat the process several times for stubborn stains. Once the stain is removed, allow the paper to dry completely before using it again. Sometimes putting rubbing alcohol on your paper, then trying lemon juice, and then an eraser will end up damaging the paper and leaving you with a bigger problem.

There are special ink erasers available that can erase pen marks. If you're unsure whether your ink is erasable, try using an ink eraser to find out. Gum erasers and rubber erasers work best for pencil/graphite and are not recommended for pen. Vinyl erasers can be used to erase ink, but caution is advised. 2. Are ink erasers effective? One of the problems that people tend to have with ink erasers is that they will leave a smudge on the paper. Lemon juice is actually a great way to clean up many household messes and leave your home smelling great.Once you have your paper cleanly erased, you might realize that you have an ink stain on your clothes. In conclusion, blotting with rubbing alcohol is an effective method to remove ink from paper. However, it is important to use caution and test the method on a small area first to ensure that it does not damage the paper. How to remove ink from paper is a common question that arises when we accidentally make a mistake while writing. Erasing with a rubber eraser is one of the most common methods used to remove ink from paper. However, it is important to note that this method may not work for all types of ink and paper. The chemical ink eraser was invented by the German manufacturer Pelikan in the 1930s and was introduced as a novelty in Germany in 1972 under the name Tintentiger (ink tiger). [1]
