Several characters specifically invoke this trope, such as Luffy gaining power from an afro or Garp bursting through a wall because it's cooler than using the door.

Nissan’s 2.6-litre and 2.8-litre straight-six twin-turbo engines are something of a legend in car tuning circles thanks to their ability to handle significant power hikes via remaps and/or upgrades to the internals. Curiously, models were stated to come with around 276bhp from the factory but when tested their actual figures were closer to 330bhp. Surprisingly Nissan didn’t get swamped with complaints from owners. The original 1970s Dodge Challenger has it all (from a muscle car point of view), although thanks to a huge number of engine and trim options some are considerably more desirable than others. Of the eight available V8 engines, it was (and still is) the 7.0-litre Hemi V8 used in R/T models that is the most muscular. It produced more than 400bhp and north of 650Nm so, despite the Challenger’s size, it promises serious performance. This makes them appealing to anyone who is a speed-junkie and loves the adrenalin rush that the speed of these machines can cause to rush through our veins! Chevrolet engines were planned to be used but it was Ford that showed the most enthusiasm. At first, Shelby used Ford’s 7.5-litre V8 but it was the 4.7-litre (or 289 cubic inch) V8 which would become the most famous engine. That said, the 7.0-litre unit later introduced to make the Cobra more competitive on the GT racing scene also grabbed attention – these models also got heavily revised suspension and a modified chassis, too. Some of the 7.0-litre models were built for racing and some for road use – the latter known as ‘427 Cobra S/Cs’ with S/C standing for ‘semi-competition’. Whatever the instincts that motorcycles awaken in you, it’s most likely they will forever be seen as the coolest of all forms of transportation, and it’s also one reason most bikers are bikers for life!Even non-riders have to admit that the image portrayed of the motorcycle is pretty cool. Think Steve McQueen on his Triumph. A Motorcycle’s design, looks, power, and sound are all pretty cool, so it’s no surprise that riding a motorcycle makes you pretty cool too! However, there are many other reasons to ride a bike than just the cool factor. Buso Renkin: Captain Bravo freely admits that his odd mannerisms and Large Ham public persona due to his belief that things are "cooler that way!" The Matrix: The premise involves robots imprisoning humans into a computer generated Platonic Cave. However, most of the series involves rebellious philosophers in Badass Longcoats fighting artificially-intelligent Agent programs in corporate attire, all through Martial Arts. In Slow Motion. It also helps that the Wachowski sisters' inspiration for creating the trilogy was Anime.

Everyone yells the name of their techniques as they use them, and the two main characters use The Power of Love to defeat the Big Bad by summoning the physical incarnation of the King of Hearts to blast a heart-shaped hole through it. James Bond: The gadgets, the Evil Plans, some of the more improbable (and more awesome) fight/chase scenes... all the stuff Agent 007 does is governed by this trope. The end of the anime is also a deconstruction of the Rule Of Cool via the Spiral Nemesis, the theoretical end of the universe via an overuse of Spiral Power (which is functionally the Rule Of Cool in Applied Phlebotinum form.) Simply put, being able to bend the laws of physics, probability and reality itself just because it'd be awesome would eventually cause reality itself to come undone. By the end of the anime, Simon resolves to prevent the Spiral Nemesis, starting with abandoning Spiral Power altogether (not even using it to resurrect Nia after her death even though he probably could) to Walk The Earth as his allies go on to use it more responsibly.

Kamina, resident badass draws his trusty katana, and it keeps coming out of the sheath for ten feet, for no reason other than it looks cool while battling someone wielding a meat cleaver. The length of Kamina's sword seems directly proportional to the length of the speech he is making while drawing it. Bike clothing, from gloves to helmets, boots to leathers, are all designed to protect the rider. Bike gear is also, however, designed to elicit a certain appeal and make the rider look cool! Any cool cars we missed? Let us know in the comments what cars you think are coolest and why, and maybe you'll see them on this list in a future update.

The Negi vs. Rakan fight. The ridiculous lengths that it goes to ( Negi reveals that he is not left handed five times in a single chapter) would just be overkill if it weren't so freaking awesome. It was both massively ahead of its time and very much of its time. Production models first started arriving in 1978 and they were awash with futuristic electronics, such as touch-sensitive buttons on the dashboard. Unfortunately, some of this technology was known to have reliability troubles – which is very much period correct for some British cars. Most riders will tell you when their fascination with motorcycles began, and for most, you will find that it started when they were young. Motorcycle riding, for many, has become less of a means of transport and more of a passionate obsession.
