The fantastic Nine Season 2009 mode featured in MotoGP 22, for example, has no replacement here, leaving only career mode to be a substantial single-player timesink. While we don't see much of the game here, there is one big feature getting shown off which is dynamic weather. This will bring a whole new sense of realism to the game, and create flag-to-flag races where riders can return to the pits and switch bikes. Rain can start at any point, leading to all of the drivers being called into the pits. This is the very definition of throwing a spanner into the works during a race and you'll have to be very careful not to slide off the circuit. You might start a race with the weather being a touch overcast or even sunny, and after a couple of laps the heavens will open and you’ll be forced to change how you race. With rain pouring down onto the tarmac, it’s easier to lose control. In one of my races in the Career mode, I had the red flags stop the race due to dangerous driving conditions. While it was frustrating as I’d fought hard to take the lead, I like how the real-life elements show themselves.

There's also a new level system in which you'll climb from Rookie to Champion. This gives a great sense of progression, especially with the rewards system which accompanies it. The feature highest in demand is now in the game: dynamic weather will not only make the races more realistic, but also more unpredictable. Manage the arrival of rain or of an unexpected clearing up with Flag to Flag: change your bike at the most appropriate moment to get a strategic advantage over your opponents. The biggest addition to the gameplay for MotoGP 23 is easily the dynamic weather. A lot of racing games have had this for a long time, but this is the first MotoGP game to feature dynamic weather.
