I watched the anime maybe a year or two ago, and I really liked the character development in this story, which is why I decided to read the book, because I was told the anime had to cut a lot and all the character in depth information that I just got is amazing. The amount of details provided is wonderful and fresh compared to some novels. The scenes showing the point of view of the other characters are just a blissful break from the all mighty isekai prowess of Rudeous, showing a more mundane and profound view of the story. Even when dealing with the wish fulfillment issues (because let's face it, how many of us have wished we could become someone else?) the book tends to never quite take itself seriously. It's all written in a fairly light hearted manner that helps us take any of the bigger issues with a grain of salt, which also helped me be more sympathetic with our lead character.

Seeing the coverart from Volume 15, I sure am looking forward to Orsted! Mushoku Tensei is an interesting story about second chances. In his past life Rudy was a 35 year old shut in and basic incel with no social skills that missed his own parents funeral. He dies and is reborn as Rudeus Greyrat. I do not recommend this light novel/web novel, both the author and its main character Rudeus Grayrat are modest, underachievers, wimps, cowards. #FAIL

What is funny to me is how Author of Musho sells his story for specific peeps as he claims is for those who are not sucessful and low on society but then procceds to show one of the worsts kind of MC that exist and gets angry when its story is bashed for it. I might be an optimistic person who likes to see people grow and give them a second chance as this protagonist got one. Arriving in Milis' capital, Milishion, the group and Gisu go their separate ways. Rudeus comes upon a kidnapping and intervenes, learning that the kidnapping is actually a rescue orchestrated by Paul's search group. Paul chastises Rudeus for failing to search for teleportation victims on the magic continent, who is taunted by Rudeus in return, causing the two to fight. Rudeus realizes that aside from Norn, the rest of his family are still missing. After some self-reflection, Rudeus and Paul reconcile before continuing on their journey. Arriving at West Port to travel to the Asura continent, Ruijerd's connection and Rudeus' aunt (Therese Latreia), allows them to board a ship despite the ban against the Supard race. What I like about this story over other isekai is that not only does Rudy have memories of his past life but along with that he has the same mental issues like his fear of going outside. He is still the person he was bur at the same time you can see him make efforts to be better, and even though he fails a lot, you cant help admire the work he puts in. Upřímně nevím, jestli hlavní postava má být prostě neskutečné hovado odtrhnuté od reality, co na nic jiného nemyslí, a my máme sledovat jeho osobnostní proměnu, nebo je autor jenom frustrovaný nadržený nerd, který si formou literatury plní své pochybné choutky. Minimálně v téhle první knize nebylo po tom prvním ani stopy, jenom hodně velice pochybného „humoru“ a objektifikace žen společně s oplzlostí, za kterou by se ani hospodští posedové nestyděli. Pevně doufám, že je to jenom autorův pokus o to dát hlavní postavě nějaké vady, aby nebyla úplně perfektní. Prosím.
