Who doesn’t love a yummy golden bun, or garlicy butter bread, or most important, a dough base for some kind of pie? By pie, of course, I mean pizza pie and the likes of it.

DOUGH MAINTENANCE

Fast forward to now and we’ve started having a bit of a family games night on a Saturday night instead of a movie night (we can never agree on what to watch) so we’ve been on the lookout for new board games to add to our collection. Last week, we were in Tesco and they had some Play dough reduced which Miss Frugal suggested we buy to see if we could make our own version of Rapidough. Everyone decides which cards are going to be used throughout the game: Blue or White. The words on the Blue cards are considered easier to model than the words on the White cards.

The dough used in this game is water based and as such will dry out after extended periods of time. However, kneading with small amounts of water or vegetable oil can easily restore it. The dough should be kept in the containers with the lid securely fastened. WarningAlso, this bodes well with kids because if there’s anything we can all agree on, it’s that when kids are hungry, you have got to get food on the table FAST! Sometimes, one team is on fire and it’s clear who’s the winner as one team doesn’t have enough playdough left to model when it’s their turn whereas the other team has a huge pile. Other times, it’s pretty close and we have to weigh the piles to confirm who the winner is! You might like to set a timer so you don’t end up playing all night!
