Sadly, de Nonancourt passed away in 2010 and Laurent-Perrier is now managed by his two daughters, Alexandra and Stéphanie alongside Cellar Master Michel Fauconnet and has become one of the region's largest producers, they are perhaps best known for Cuvée Rosé, the most recognised rosé champagne on the planet. Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 by André Michel but it was his cellar master Eugene Laurent, who ran it with his wife, Mathilde Emilie Perrier. In 2017, Laurent-Perrier took a huge risk and created a new recipe for their popular non-vintage Champagne.

The lightness and elegance of Laurent-Perrier’s signature Champagne, La Cuvée, defines the House style. Recognised throughout the world since 1812, Laurent-Perrier abide by long-established traditions: respect for nature and wine and dedication to quality. Grape varietals: a majority of Chardonnay, over 50% Pinot Noir, between 30% and 35% rounded out with Meunier, between 10% and 15% + Reserve wines between 15% and 30%* to ensure perfect consistency in style. This variety which is very often the majority, brings Brut Sans Année from "La Cuvée" to the House's champagnes with the most prestigious Cuvées bringing the freshness, the elegance and purity which are much sought after and make the Laurent-Perrier style so distinct. An innovator in Champagne, Laurent-Perrier was the first House to offer the successive breakthrough Cuvées of Grand Siècle, Cuvée Rosé, Ultra Brut and Alexandra Rosé Millesimé .

He has spent his whole career at Laurent-Perrier, from humble beginnings as a cellar worker, before rising to become a supervisor, then head of the cellar. The maceration, lasting from 48-72 hours depending on the harvest, helps the extraction of the colour and the development of the full aromatic richness of the Pinot Noir.

All those tiny bubbles trapped in a redcurrant and apple-flavoured alcoholic concoction so delicious, creamy and light, it's a wonder they want to escape. The house was acquired by the Nonancourt family in 1949 and, for 50 years, Bernard de Nonancourt dedicated his life to innovating and perfecting Laurent-Perrier champagne. Laurent-Perrier truly does master the maceration method of making rosé, achieving an amazing textural silkiness and structural tension without ever showing too much tannin or bitterness. Now one of the region's largest producers, they are perhaps best known for Cuvée Rosé, the most recognised rosé champagne on the planet. Although originally founded in 1812, the name Champagne Laurent-Perrier was not conceived until 1964. The beautifully expressive nose oozes Pinot Noir's sweet and spicy strawberry and blood orange fruit. This stylish champagne is a blend of wines from more than 55 crus or villages and between 10 and 20% of reserve wines are used. Laurent-Perrier produces a range of pioneering Champagnes and has a reputation for challenging conventional techniques whilst honouring traditional values.
