Description

When examining the album’s tracks, it becomes even more evident why “Paranoid” gained its revered status. The deluxe edition of Paranoid, celebrating its 50th anniversary, is available as a five-LP/four-CD set. The record’s heavy blues-rock infused with dark, minor-key dirges captivated audiences in a way not previously experienced in the rock genre ( Allmusic).

Comprised of various labels we know and love at Rough Trade (Bella Union, ATO, Speedy Wunderground, Phantasy, Heavenly, Mute and more) PIAS [Recordings] filter through some of the most diverse artistry to our racks, which we greatly enjoy digging into.It wasn't among those mastered by Sean Magee and others have said that it has goosed-up bass and too much noise reduction. In the 1960s, the hippie culture saw Birmingham become a vessel of musical activity, but it wasn't until Black Sabbath formed in 1968 that the city's overt bleakness motivated the birth of a thick and aggressive sound that reflected the reverberating cacophony of factories and steelworks.

With its combination of heavy blues-rock and psychedelic influences, “Paranoid” also demonstrated the band’s willingness to experiment and push boundaries. The album is often credited with refining Black Sabbath’s signature sound and contributing significantly to the genre’s evolution ( Post-Trash). These songs have become all-time metal classics and continue to influence heavy metal music today (AllMusic).Subsequent ''swirl'' Vertigo reissues changed all credits into upper and lower case and also adds in composition and publishing credits. In conclusion, no matter which format you choose to enjoy Black Sabbath’s Paranoid album, it is important to consider the sound quality and overall listening experience. Kurt Cobain always said he wanted Nirvana to be a mixture of the Beatles tunes and Black Sabbath's heaviness. I would recommend "Paranoid", which is arguably the most well-known in Black Sabbath's catalogue, as the best place to start for anyone unfamiliar with their music; this self-titled first outing is more suited to fans of the high wailing vocal tones, slow tempos, and extended guitar solos employed by Witchfinder General and Candlemass.

The first (this release) and 2nd versions had band member and production credits in capital letters throughout. So bad that I did not even wanted to try the records on my turntable, it was one huge scratch that went over one of the records like someone had taken a knife on the record.what has me confused is that the machine stamped "O" would indicate a Winchester pressing and the pressing rings match any other record i have from the Capitol Records plant in Winchester,, but nowhere is there any evidence of the —◁ etching in the dead-wax/matrix area that is on every other Winchester pressing i have ever seen or owned. Some deluxe editions offer remastered versions, like the 50th Anniversary of Paranoid, which includes two live sets from 1970. Paranoid, released in 1970, refined Black Sabbath’s signature sound, which consisted of crushingly loud, minor-key dirges loosely based on heavy blues-rock, and applied it to a consistent set of songs with memorable riffs (AllMusic). Similar German editions with the same catalogue number and same front cover, but differ from each other also by different rear sides.

It contains several of the band's signature songs, including "Iron Man", "War Pigs" and the title track, which was the band's only Top 20 hit, reaching number 4 in the UK charts. The album features iconic tracks such as “Paranoid,” “War Pigs,” and “Iron Man,” which have since become mainstays in the world of rock and heavy metal. These tracks, among others, have gone on to become some of the most iconic heavy metal songs in history. Original pressings can have a more muffled and dull tone, while reissues tend to be brighter sounding and provide a better listening experience for some.A routinely great artist, much of Sufjan's universal appeal comes from his skills as a gifted narrator, pairing personal musings on love and devotion with commentary on American culture, whilst welding folk and electronica, the ambient and existential. The Kevin Gray Rhino pressing is another reissue option that has been praised for its sound quality. I have a copy of the NEMS reissue NEL 6002 and when you open out the gatefold sleeve everything is upside down. Why are people coming here to complain about product shipment times or damaged products they can't even review? Released on a Vertigo "swirl" label with the wording ''Vertigo'' above the spindle hole in a laminated cover.
