Description

I was unsure what Let’s Build A Zoo would bring to the table. I know I had seen it in various places and seen others talking about it. But I didn’t know if it was the game for me. However, I really enjoyed my time in the game. There are obviously tasks and targets to hit, however unlike the usual sim titles. It didn’t feel stressful trying to hit these targets. Don’t get me wrong as your zoo grows you sometimes have to look twice to figure out what to do next. However, there were no frustrations to be had. It is a game that could be enjoyed by anyone and I highly recommend it if you need a little you time away from an FPS. I award Let’s Build A Zoo a Thumb Culture Gold Award!

Its very in depth game that may work for some people, but to me, it felt like a job that I should be getting paid to manage this much stuff that is hard to see. At certain points the pacing also just feels off. Its a weird combination of too much waiting and micromanaging a mess in between a lot of waiting and hoping your waiting pays off and results in profit. Let's Build a Zoo is simple enough on the surface that you can play as casually as you'd like, building a fancy zoo and keeping your guests happy. But for those players who like a deeper simulation, there are numerous underlying systems that can be utilized and explored. Alongside "50+" aquatic creatures - including sharks, whales, manta rays, dolphins, eels, and seahorses - Aquarium Odyssey promises "100+" new shops, decorations, and facilities, seven new enclosures, plus a new story campaign said to last over 20 hours. Let's Build A Zoo truly lets you go wild, with hundreds of animals to breed and import, tons of buildings, foliage, decorations and path types to spruce up your monkey business, and plenty of staff options for keeping your animals happy, and your guests entertained. Let’s Build A Zoo is just as wonderful on console as it was on its initial release on PC. As with any building management simulator, some controls will never feel completely intuitive moving from mouse to controller, and Let’s Build A Zoo is no different, but only in minor areas. The Dinosaur Island DLC takes all the highlights from the base game and amplifies them in a fantastic addition to an already extremely enjoyable game.

Everything else

Carp-e diem! If you're looking for aquarium DLC for your favorite zoo management sim, you've come to the right plaice. Indie tycoon game Let's Build a Zoo will be making its way to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS5 and Xbox via Game Pass on 29th September. Let's Build a Zoo is going deep. Aquarium Odyssey is a sprawling, fintastic content overload coming to the game later this year, adding an a-trout-cious amount of new aquatic creatures, and a full new story campaign that'll be kraken you up for 20+ hours! b]It's time to build a zoo![/b] Let out your wild side, and create your own animal empire with this cute, expansive management sim. Import and breed rare creatures, hire the right staff, keep your visitors happy, and deal with plenty of weird and wonderful events. Then try your hand at DNA Splicing, and stitch together over 300,000 different types of animal, ranging from the majestic Giraffephant to the peaceful PandOwl!

The Dinosaur DLC is a fantastic addition to an already great game and is much of the same set up as your original zoo. You can fly there while working on your current zoo, and with you you’ll take a small stipend to set things up. The different dinosaurs are discovered and gain entry to your zoo through a group of palaeontologists who you can pay to discover more variants of dinosaur. With 51 dinosaurs to discover and display in your zoo, there is a lot of digging to be done. From your favourite stegosaurus to extinct mammals like woolly mammoths.Build your own zoo with over 500 different animals at your disposal, then splice together over 300,000 different animal combinations Don’t let Let’s Build A Zoo's appearance fool you. It has the gorgeous pixel art and presentation of a classic tycoon game, as well as all the simulation aspects you’d ever want. But buried under that business management exterior is a game equally interested in exploring moral choices, and one that leaves me thankful it pauses before I have to make a decision.

The biggest issue for us is with the gene-splicing mechanic though. Any two animal types can be combined into hybrids. They’re popular with visitors but can’t be bred and so don’t really add much to your long-term expansion plans. We used the gene-splicing facilities instead to clone rarer animals for breeding which is way more important and, also, not entirely at odds with the game’s conservation-based theme. Escape to a brand new DINOSAUR ISLAND and discover a world of prehistoric beasts. Start a brand new zoo complete with terrifying (and adorable!) creatures, brand new themed shops and a whole host of new decorations to give your guests the ultimate dinosaur experience!Let’s Build A Zoo is always throwing new things at you without letting the previous stuff get stale." Let’s Build A Zoo is a pixel art title, however, it doesn’t just feel like your standard pixel art. It almost feels like it has been polished slightly to leave a nice smooth edge. The designs of all the in-game assets really brought the game to life. The animal assets and animations used to look great. I would be lying if I said I didn’t smile when I first saw a little rabbit hopping around the enclosure I just made. Zoo Life Developed by Springloaded and published by No More Robots, we finally have a console release of the ever-popular pixel-sim title, Let’s Build A Zoo. The game is available now across all platforms. Not Just Another Zoo Sim!
