I would still recommend everyone to have them in there tool bag as they are handy when the cable comes out a wall and your unable to get a close strip with conventional cutters. Sheath stripper - Simple rotary action cutter and stripper perfect for 2-core and 3-core mains cables and leads. Produces safe ring-of-cut for outer and inner insulation on all types of flexible cable. Wire stripper pliers - V-shaped stripping jaws for removing plastic insulation from single and multicore conductors. Available with VDE handles. The KNIPEX range includes hand tools for various occasions. Of course, the main focus is still on pliers. Nevertheless, it is sometimes useful to have the right screwdriver or knife for the respective work area in the tool assortment. I know that some boys really hate this. Cut and strip it, nice and easy it will go inside your board. Tails are a bit more awkward to strip as you can see. But that's where the little knife comes in.

Put it on, pull it which then scores it and should then break open. It should break open, it just doesn't know it yet. There we go, there's your cat 6.Put it in, give it a twist and pull it off. There's all your cores ready to go and actually cut perfectly. Let move on to cat 6 tough, I have that much faith in this. You'll have to cut the whole length of it which is a bit risky as I don't like cutting cat cable. Hi guys, Expert Trades have sent out another handy wee tool, this time it's a KNIPEX ErgoStrip. Now this is a great wee tool, opens up and cable goes in. I'm going to show you how in a wee second, and does any round cable, strips the end of it, even does your cat cable, and this, like a lot of tools,

Kew Technik now offers an amazing easy to use and sensibly priced new tool that will give complete confidence in the knowledge that a perfectly straight cut with no ragged edges will render the cable ready for safe termination to glands or fittings in no time at all. Hi, my name's Neil Gargaro from Routley & Lemon Electrical Contractors, and we're going to be taking a look today at the KNIPEX ErgoStrip. Carl Kammerling international has launched an innovative new steel wired armoured (SWA) cable stripper, designed to speed up the process of SWA cable termination for installers.I have used these strippers for a month now and I have not used them as much as I thought. At first I struggled to get to grips with them as typically I would just use cutters to strip cable.

Let's give it a go. When you're ready, just put your coax in. Pull it off and hey presto, ready to go. Next lets go on to some network cable, this is cat 5.

There we go. I hate coax cable, this is cheap rubbish I'll be honest with you. As you can see it actually strips quite well. It's all quite neat, and if you wanted to strip that too you can. Same again, twist it, strip it, pull it off. nice. Here we've got another piece of small cable, it looks like 1.5 single. Same thing, put it on, twist it, strip it, pull it off. Universal Tweezers ESD, DIN EN 61340 -5-1, electrically dissipative, for electronics and fine mechanics All right guys, just a little review on a KNIPEX ErgoStrip. I find this tool very handy in the right circumstances. Everybody's seen these automated strippers, they're good, everybody knows the concept. They work, squeeze it, strips the cable. Great. They're alright with three core, but the moment you go anything bigger, like this four core, nothing just fits in. That's when I tend to find these little KNIPEX ErgoStrippers are brilliant. They have al the holes down the side for small cable, a tool for ringing cable, splitter, and then they've got a little one for Coaxial cable. All you do is, there's a little clip on the side, push it, open the spring load mechanism, put in your cable and twist it and snap it. Now, when you have a long one like this as well it's very useful, because on the side of this there is a little blade. You can just run it down the edge, close it, clamp it, apply a bit of pressure, run it down, and it just peels that cable off very, very nice for you.

If you want use it for single of course, it works fine. I want to go on to the big boy cables again this time here, one of your tails. Put it on, cut it. Break it off and hey presto.

Please note:

Hi, it's Dan from Hodgson Electrical. Today, I'm reviewing the Knipex ErgoStrip Tool. On first impressions, the tool seems well built and is made in Germany. This is first time using the tool. And like most men, the instructions went straight in the bin. So let's see how easy it is to use. The blades are sharp, they have been well used in the time I have had them, though an admittedly short time. Automatic wire stripper - Cuts and strips insulation from a range of wire sizes in one operation. A single squeeze of handles opens and closes the synchronised jaws and strips insulation clean. The best feature I have found is the blade to strip long sections of cable. This is very easily done by placing the cable in the side of the tool with a blade. Apply pressure and draw along the cable, and it will score the outer sheath without damaging the inner cores. This would be particularly useful when making off a long length of FP cable. It's actually really comfortable to use. I would say you could use all day. If you're stripping cables all day, it's not very exciting job. But hey ho the life of an apprentice and the life of an electrician is always a good one.
