Matured solely in ex-Bourbon barrels the Indigo is smooth and elegant with hints of creamy dulce de lache, vanilla, cappuccino, cocoa, lemongrass and hazelnut. Aged for 8 years in ex American Oak Bourbon barrels which has produced a rum that has some rich Vanilla notes with hints of Coffee and Dark Chocolate. It was created as an homage to the Mayan God of rain, dubbed Indigo, and spent its eight years of ageing in American oak bourbon barrels. Indulgent notes of oak wood, sweet vanilla, dark chocolate, hazelnut cappuccino, butterscotch and creamy Dulce de Leche. Cihuatán Indigo presents tasting notes such as Vanilla, Cappuccino, Dark Chocolate, Lemongrass, Hazelnut and Artisanal Dulce de Leche, and it can be enjoyed neat, with a mixer or in a cocktail, it is very versatile and easy to mix.

This rum is aged according to the Solera method, in American oak barrels that have contained bourbon The youngest eaux-de-vie are at least 8 years old. The name “Indigo” was inspired by the color blue, which was crafted by the ancient Maya using the Indigo flower (añil).
