Key specs – Display size:14in; Display resolution: 1,920 x 1,080 (touchscreen); Panel type: OLED; CPU: Intel Core i7-13700H; Graphics: Intel Iris Xe (integrated); RAM: 16GB; Storage: 512GB SSD; Dimensions: 313 x 14.9 x 218mm (WDH); Weight: 1.3kg It's only been available a couple of weeks and it's already on discount - see the link to Laptops Direct and our price comparisons below. Our only wish is that it offered more physical ports (and was perhaps a little cheaper) but beyond that, it's virtually perfect as far as 17-inch laptops go. If you can afford it, this is the one to get.

ASUS Vivobook Go 15 OLED (E1504G)

The size of your mini laptop’s display makes a huge difference in determining how engaging content looks on it. Choose from HP mini laptops with 33.78 cm (13.3) displays, or sleek iBall laptops with 29.4 cm (11.6) touchscreen displays.

Mini laptops are generally productivity-focused, so finding a small, portable gaming laptop can be a serious challenge. The Asus ROG Flow Z13 proves that ultraportables can still offer great gaming performance, though, if you’re willing to pay a premium for it. The Z13 doesn’t come cheap but is able to play new games with beautiful visuals because it features a dedicated graphics card, an extra processor specifically for gaming and intensive tasks like video editing. The Lenovo Duet 3 is a perfect example of what makes Chromebooks so appealing. Its on-paper specs don’t look great compared to traditional mini-laptops, but its performance is anything but sluggish. screen usability? I doesn't have to be 4K (mine is 800x1200) but does need to be sharp enough for regular use including watching the odd movie or other stream. I didn't see that discussed much in the article. The screen on the RCA 7″ Voyager Pro also includes touchscreen functionality. If you plan to spin your screen around to use it as a tablet, that’s an especially important feature.Storage doesn’t come into play as much as it used to, thanks to cloud options. But if you want to store documents, videos and images on your laptop, you’ll need to look for one that offers space for it. Some mini laptops offer 64 GB. With the RCA 7″ Voyager Pro you only get 16 GB. But the RCA 7″ Voyager Pro gives you the option of a microSD card for extra storage. Most 14-inch laptops will feature a 1,920 x 1080 pixel display, also known as “1080p” or “Full HD.” That’s perfectly fine for productivity apps and web browsing, especially on a smaller screen. You may find less expensive laptops feature lower resolutions–You probably won’t notice the difference unless you try to play games on them. Still, we recommend looking for 1080p screens or better. Battery Life We’ve found Apple laptops are very often cheaper, and available for faster delivery, when you don't buy direct from Apple. The main reason you’d buy directly is if you wanted a specification, such as a processor, Ram and storage combination, that isn’t available anywhere else. But you’re less likely to bag a bargain this way. Keyboards have long been a Lenovo strength, and the Yoga 7i 14 Gen 7 is no exception. The keys offer a supremely comfortable typing feel, with a good depth of travel, substantial springiness with every keystroke, and Lenovo's signature scalloped key design that's both visually appealing and pleasantly tactile. Below the keyboard is a generous extra-wide touchpad, with a smooth glass surface and support for multitouch gestures. On a notebook without touch-screen and tablet capability, the pad alone would be great for comfortable navigation. On the touch-centric Yoga, it's a welcome flourish that enhances the laptop experience. The same is true of Ram; once you have loaded a file from the hard drive, it’s now in the Ram and can be accessed almost instantaneously.

Light use and note taking: Look for Intel Pentium or Intel Core i3 and at least 4GB of Ram for a great experienceThe whole point about investing in personal computers is so you have a portable smart device to compute on. Lugging around a heavyweight laptop only defeats this purpose. Get smart about the way you carry work and entertainment with you - get on with mini laptops. There are three major players when it comes to the software (operating system) your computer runs on. Find out more in our guide to Chromebook vs MacBook vs Windows laptops, or look at our brief summaries below. A Windows 11 laptop is best if… If you’re hoping to do some photo or video editing, you probably want to get a higher resolution so you can see what you’re working on in its intended resolution. And, if you’re getting one to game on and you like to play immersive story-driven or open-world games, you’ll appreciate getting a laptop with 1440p or 4k. Of course, it’s only worth getting that higher resolution if your portable’s components can keep up. That means having a solid discrete GPU to run your favorite apps or games at those higher resolutions. The Yoga 7i is all about the screen, which does double duty as both laptop display and tablet touch screen, and our test unit's high-quality, 14-inch IPS panel does the job. The screen's 16:10 aspect ratio is a bit taller, requiring a bit less scrolling than the familiar 16:9 ratio, and works well in tablet mode. The glossy display provides 10-point touch as well as active stylus support, but we were disappointed that the pen isn't included. Immersive Gaming Experience: 7-inch Full HD 1080p touchscreen with 60Hz refresh rate and full screen 16:9 gaming experience

Higher resolution also means more screen real estate. So, if you’re a multitasker looking to keep multiple tabs open and visible at once, a QHD or higher resolution will only help. Laptop manufacturers seem to consistently look for ways to reduce the number of ports to keep things simple. Some mini laptops come with USB-C, USB-A and HDMI ports. With certain models, you get a USB, Type-C and HDMI port, as well as a 4-in-1 card reader. The RCA 7″ Voyager Pro has one USB port each.Even if you rely on headphones for sound, it can be nice to have a laptop with decent speakers. Look for one that provides impressive audio, even at a low volume. With many mini laptops, you’ll likely find the audio distorts as you increase the volume. You’re concerned about your budget: If you’re willing to sacrifice just a little, you can spec this lower - or buy a completely different gaming-friendly laptop. support? ("RCA" is somebody in China that provides no real support and this one doesn't sound any better.) Drivers for mine are what was released with it for Win10 1511, and updates from MS have not always worked right.
