This keeps the vocals and lead instruments clear while also keeping the presence in the low ranges of the mix. Bass

Moondrop is popular among CHI-FI enthusiasts, and they have released several crowd-favorite IEMs, such as the CHU, Blessing 2, Dusk, Aria 2021, KATO, and Starfield (just to name a few). Moondrop has even ventured into earbuds, some considered best-in-class (eg Chaconne and Liebesleid). Moondrop recently entered the TWS game with the Sparks and Nekocake. Technical Specifications Hybrids and pure BA IEMs were left out of the comparison as the different transducer types have their own pros and cons. Vs. Moondrop Aria 2021 Gear Used For Testing LG G6, DDHiFi TC35B, Earstudio HUD100, Earmen TR-Amp, Asus FX53V, TEAC HA-501 Furthermore, the total technical performance and sound quality are much superior to the asking price, and the device should certainly be included in your short list of options.I have little complaints about the cable. Its fabric braided, built like a tank and has excellent ear hooks yet very very prone to kinks and tangles. I wish moondrop opted for some paracord material instead (I often wonder why isn’t anyone adopting paracords for iem cables. It totally changed the gaming mouse scene)

Whereas, the Aria is much smaller & lighter. Hence, in terms of comfort it is much more preferable. I would give the edge to the Aria here. The 10mm LPC diaphragm driver provides plenty of slam in the lower end and has a decent amount bass slam. I enjoyed the drums in Midnight Sky cover by Miley Cyrus, just foot tappingly enjoyable. Fiio FH3- I’ll call this one a tie. Aria sounds way more natural and wide but FH3 has more texture and layering in the bass and more precise imaging. FH3 is a bit more claustrophobic in comparison (quite a bit tbh) and has some metallic sheen. Both are great options for the price but I simply find the aria to be better personally. Both IEMs integrate a 10mm dynamic driver as its main unit. The Aira uses a liquid crystal diaphragm, while the Starfield uses a carbon nanotube weave. Usually crystal diaphragms indicate a better transient response, while the nanaotube diaphragm helps give the IEM a smoother and tougher signal that help identify timbral characteristrics a lot more clearly. SoundstageThe Snow Edition shells are essentially identical to the Aria 2021 in shape and size. Like their predecessor, the housings are manufactured from precision mold casting and Computerized Numerical Control ( CNC) milling technology. Compared to the Aria 2021, the Snow Edition shells are real lookers, but for me, sound quality is still the first priority over aesthetics. Soundstage is slightly above average in all three dimensions, with height and depth more prominent over soundstage width. Clarity is quite good, but micro-details are not the most pronounced, and imaging and layering are just decent. There is occasional smearing of instruments with very complex riffs with competing instrumentation.

The unboxing experience is very satisfying, and it gave me the same feeling of excitement that I felt when I was getting my first guitar. Soundstage is excellent. Not much depth but width is pretty impressive. Imaging is also above average. Slightly less accurate compared to final e4000/3000 and bl05s. Instrument separation is decent. It doesn’t sound convoluted, muffled or claustrophobic, so gets a pass mark on all fronts I guess. So this is another smoother and warmer treble tuning, but Aria still has a lot of air and openness in its sound. The lower midrange is just a tinge depressed but is quite transparent without a big mid-bass encroaching into this area. The upper midrange is boosted but not too shouty or fatiguing. The DUNU Titan S are a neutral bright pair that have a tinge better technicalities than the Snow Edition. However, the Titan S are a bit more shouty in the upper midrange and also display sibilance. The Titan S also have a bit less natural timbre than the Snow Edition. The fit of the wire is slightly unsatisfactory but it depends on each person. I will swap it out if it doesn't feel good over time

The Aria 2021 are easier to drive and have more sub-bass quantity and better sub-bass extension than their younger sibling on A/B comparisons. Bass texturing is not as good on the Aria 2021. Upper treble is also more extended and sparkly, although more grainy, on the Aria 2021. The sound has a powerful thump and slam to it, with the bass taking center stage. The bass has a lot of texture and air to it. The bass is not only of a good quality, but it is also of great quantity. Even though the bass is far under the levels of bassheads, it has a full-bodied feel. Plus like many of their contemporaries, these IEMs have a lower-treble accent, peaking at 5kHz before beginning to fade off. Comes with a replaceable cable | Moondrop I read your review on Olina but I’m still having a hard time deciding on which one to get because it seems like Olina has great technical performance but it is also commented that it brings out female vocal more than the male vocal, which is something I wish to fix here from Ola.This is where both OH10 and Aria does well while the OH10 has more details and sparkle than the Aria - it also has rare peaks. I would call this a tie. I found that Titan S is what fall in-between the two. Olina and Starsea seems to be an upgrade over OLA while adding more bass while retaining or even exceeding OLA’s technicalities, which kinda go against my initial point of finding an all-rounder that sits between OLA and Tanya. Tests were done with a Khadas Toneboard DAC -> Schiit Asgard 3 amp, E1DA 9038, Questyle M15, Colorfly CDA M1, Tempotec Sonata HD Pro (BHD firmware mod), smartphone, and Sony NW A-55 DAP (Walkman One mod) using FLAC and WAV files.
