Description

Fluval recommend you rinse the BioMax Rings monthly and replace them every six months. Based on our own experience, however, you don’t need new rings until the old ones completely breaks apart. Regular rinsing should be enough to keep the rings effective for many years. You should replace the Ammonia Remover every month as it will lose its effectiveness over time. You can also swap them sooner (or later) based on what your test kit show. If you want to get rid of phosphate from your tank, then you should use the Phosphate Remover. For the uninformed, excess phosphate will lead to algae bloom. The pads will also capture small particles from the water. Large pallet items like aquariums are deemed delivered successfully with no damage once the the driver has left the property. If a report of damage is submitted after the driver has left we may be unable to assist with replacements. We recommend refusing a damaged delivery, this is the fastest resolution.

If you want even more mechanical filtration, you can also use the Pre-Filter Media. These rings are designed to filter out medium-sized particles from the water column.

Replacement of Glass or Ceramic Items: Glass or ceramic items can only be replaced if the store is notified within 48 hours of receiving the delivery. According to the store’s return policy, the following guidelines should be followed for returning goods: The Sea Total Clear is the best chemical filtration from Fluval as it combines resin and carbon. As a result, it will be able to remove ammonia, nitrate (freshwater only) in addition to heavy metals, odors, discolorations and medicine. You should place the Phosphate Remover in the top grey media basket if you have the 106, 206, 306, 107, 207 or 307. For fish keepers who have the 406 or 407, you can put the pads in either the top two media baskets. I have used the Fluval 406 as the example (as I own it) but this could apply to other external filters.

For the 106-307 models, just put the resin in the top most gray media baskets of the filters. For the 406 and 407 filter models, you can place them in either of the two basket filters. To remove heavy metals, odors, discolorations and/or medicine from your tank, you should use the Fluval Carbon. The microscopic pores of the bituminous carbon will absorb any of the aforementioned impurities from the tank water. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. If you want to lower the pH of your tank water and, thus, making it more acidic, then you should use the Aquatic Peat. The granules will leach humic acids and tannins, which will safely soften your aquarium waters over time.Depending on the breed of fish you are taking care of, you will be faced with various types of impurities in the water. Different types of filter media are capable of catching many types of these impurities, and it is important that you choose a nitrate remover that aligns with your specific requirements. Safety All you need in this case is the best nitrate remover for your freshwater or saltwater aquarium! In this buying guide will discuss the different types of nitrate removers available and help you decide which one is right for you. We’ll also provide a few tips on choosing the best nitrate remover for your specific needs. So read on to learn more! All parcels require a signature upon delivery, meaning that our courier is unable to leave an item without a signature. Fluval advises that you should replace the Nitrite Remover every month. You can replace the pads earlier or later based on the readings of your water tests.

You should place the rings on the bottom most grey basket of the 106 and 107 canisters. You can put the BioMax on the middle basket of the 206, 306, 207 and 307 canisters. For the 406 and 407 canisters, you should set the rings on the second most-bottom basket. Make sure you thoroughly rinse off any particles before putting these rings in the basket. This guide at Aquarium Blueprints will help you find the best filter media types to use with your Fluval 06 and 07 Canisters. You should place the Pre-Filter Media in the bottom-most grey media basket of the 106 and 107. For the 206, 306, 207 and 307 filters, you can use the middle basket. For the 406 and 407, you should put the rings on the second most bottom grey media basket. Before putting the rings into the basket, make sure you methodically rinse off any dust and other particles. Fluval recommend that you clean the Bio-Foam Max monthly and then replace every six months. Based on our experience, you don’t have to replace the foam at all unless it starts to break down. It should remain effective as long as you clean it monthly. Verification of Damage: Once the store receives the returned goods, they will verify the damage. If the damage is confirmed, the store will supply the required replacements.

The point is, they both help your tank, but in different ways. So the first thing you need to do is run a water testing kit and see if there are any problems in your tank. If there are, then follow our guide on Fluval Clearmax vs Carbon below to see if either of these filters will help. Fluval Clearmax: A Deep Dive What It Does Fluval recommend cleaning the sponge every three months and replacing every six months. Based on our experience, you do not need to replace the sponge at all unless it starts to break apart. Otherwise, the Bio-Foam+ will remain effective for many years with the occasional rinsing. Water changing is when the fish keeper will drain a tank from a portion of the water – depending on the percentage of the water change- and replace whatever was drained with clean and fresh water. To get rid of nitrites from your fish tank, you should use the Nitrite Remover. This media type will absorb the toxic compound from the water column. The pads will also trap small particles. You should place the Nitrite Remover at the top grey media baskets in the 106, 206, 306, 107, 207 and 307. You can use either of the top two media baskets of the 406 and 407.
