no there were a few things that I marked this down for, but as expected as I've read this author before the writing here was excellent. the moment they met he tried to have sex with her even though she said no multiple times and then he proceeded to be rude to her for pretty much the entire story after that, by throwing food at her, writing “slut” on her forehead, and just rude things that are certainly not how one is supposed to show love to another. Her multi faceted personality gets too big to be contained in the House so she sets off to find herself.

If you're convinced that the boundary-pushing nature of this book is not your thing, I completely understand and respect that.there is also this scene where she unbuttons a shirt she is wearing in front of dearest uncle jake - mind you, she is wearing a whole ass t-shirt underneath - and he is like "She should be doing this in the privacy of the bathroom. I don't really know how exactly to go about discussing this book as it doesn't really fit in any of the prescribed boxes (or tropes) in which we romance readers like to shove things. uncle jake is already thirsting after some teenage 🐱, there is no way he won't at least try to do something. and i knew that this would be longish, and that’s one of the reasons i didn’t read it at first, but then i thought, you know what?

i don’t even know why i picked up this book, i wanted another punk 57 i guess because i actually loved that so i wanted to read more penelope douglas and instead i got ✨this. There was such a strong build-up of emotions and very intense sexual attraction between these characters and it was literally like a blow-up when it happens. Mixed with complex characters, atmospheric setting, and the author’s alluring story telling, this book will guarantee passage to one of the wildest (and most uncomfortable) rides you’ve ever had in your reading life. The entire situation they find themselves in is quite outrageous (obvs) and it was… definitely something! Authors and/or publishers, if for some reason you wish to see something removed from my page do not hesitate to contact me.

jake: jake was supposedly a big part of the book, at least at first, and then he all but disappears. Residing up in the mountains of Chapel Peak, Colorado, they're rugged and handsome, living in seclusion. There’s such depth to these characters and it’s clear that there’s a lot of pain, anger and resentment in their histories that they’ve kept with them until now. Hormones swell up like a rushing creek, gathering momentum and soon they burst forth in a definite roar and unstoppable force like a waterfall.

There are a few small things I didn’t like about the book, but I won’t go into them because that would be giving things away. I mean, I was fine with the pairing in the end because it was somewhat healing and they were obviously very happy; though that's not to say these relationships are healthy at all! I love the idea of living in a secluded area near the wilderness, and this book captures that ambiance perfectly.Just because you've gone through traumatic situations does not make it okay for you to rape someone or react violently. It's important to note that at Booked J we are open to all genres and as our audience grows, so does our taste in literature. Tiernan wants to get away from the spotlight of her parents deaths and she finds out that her fathers estranged stepbrother, Jake has become her guardian.

and why would i not be intrigued by a h who gets stuck in the Colorado mountains with her step-uncle and two step-cousins?

noah did confuse me sometimes though because he acted all tough and bad or whatever but then was really gentle and chill the next second so that was kinda weird, it’s like the author couldn’t decide exactly what they wanted him to be like.
