Just done a ride over to Wales, they stayed comfy all day, dry and feel reassuring firm around the ankle area. However, there are some exceptions, such as Alpinestars sneakers/shoes and motocross boots, which are sold in American sizes. The straps on the fasteners are adjustable, much like ski boots, so you can tension them for a snug, secure fit without them being uncomfortable with one strap over the bridge of the foot, one at the top of the ankle and one, the top of the boot.

Well it’s a boot designed for the adventure bike rider who wants the ‘adventure’ look, but who is prepared to trade protection for a bit of extra comfort. Standing up, they felt secure on the bike’s footpegs with plenty of grip and they transmitted the feelings from the bike, of movement and grip, perfectly to the feet and legs. A technical multi-flex sole allows the right amount of flex for everyday walking, but at the same time, has controlled flex and crush resistance to exceed CE level 2 protection. So if you choose Sidi motorcycle boots, it may be wise to go one size larger than your normal shoe size. When open the boot flap has an internal gusset to give them the waterproof capability that my old boots struggled with in extreme rain.

On top of all this, they handled the odd water splash well and when it came to hopping off the bike to grab a coffee, they were as comfortable on the ground as the bike. Extra soft Polymer padding with memory foam gives outstanding comfort, along with a replaceable anti-bacterial footbed with APS (Air Pump System). If you're not into this particular pair of Short boots, simply check out our other adventure / touring boots from Forma. There is plenty of room to wiggle toes and there are no tight spots nor bits that stick into the feet. The personalised Forma Drytex tubular lining incorporates a waterproof and breathable membrane, ensuring comfort in various weather conditions. A short, touring boot might conceivably be more comfortable, but a boot like this will be more protective.

As you would expect from a boot of this nature they are very sturdy and it took a minute to mentally adjust to where my foot needed to be on gear shift. An anti-shock EVA Midsole and half-shank reinforcement give additional stability and durability along with shin and ankle TPU moulded protection. The new Forma Adventure low combines the comfort and flexibility of a road boot with features of an off-road boot. Protection you'd expect: The ankle has been reinforced with TPU moulded plastic to give you ultimate protection. This means that the front of the boot is flexible offering you more mobility but the back of the boot is stiffer so that your foot can't bend backwards. The first time I wore them was for a five-hour cross-country and motorway jaunt and they felt as good at the end as the beginning. Inner Personalized Forma Drytex tubular lining (waterproof and breathable) / Ankle TPU moulded plastic protections / Soft polymer padding with memory foam / PP Mid Dual Flex with anti-shock EVA midsole / Anti-bacterial replaceable footbed with A.

But Forma has a very loyal following of bikers who are fans of both the quality and robustness of their footwear, but also of its comfort. For when the ground gets rough the sole has ample tread that looks like it can handle the hardiest of terrain. Over the years I’ve collected a number of boots and while my Alpinestars Supertech R race boots were great on a race bike I needed something a little bit more rugged for use on the GS. I’ve dragged them through rain, dirt, and more rain and more dirt, snow and the hot desert - and remarkably they’ve never once given me any trouble or discomfort.I was reliably informed that they would bed in very quickly but from the off they were extremely comfy with a good padded interior. Really well made, good quality leather, but very stiff when you first put them on, I'm having to walk around the house to break them in, loosening up nicely. Cross-country, the feel for the bike was great and movement for the gear and brake pedals was spot on. And you get some elasticated shirring at the top of the shaft for a bit of extra comfort as you lean into the boot. Although there are some exceptions, the general rule is that you should be guided by the brand's size chart.
