Description

The S12 features a custom-made 14.8mm planar driver. Its large diaphragm aims to deliver strong and impactful bass and clarity through its frequency response. Its high sensitivity and low impedance make the S12 easy to drive from most systems, whether that be from your phone, DAP, or small amplifier. I preferred using my S12 with its 4.4mm connectors, which is what most of this review will be based on. Soundstage Both the LetShuoer S12 and the TiN HiFi P2 do offer an efficient performance in terms of separation and placement of instruments and vocals. The S12 has the upper hand for the soundstage wideness, while both IEM’s are pretty similar when it comes to the depth of the stage. Even though the S12 Pro are not the most comfortable pair, I actually had more fit issues with the Timeless. Considering that the Timeless are also more expensive, I would choose the S12 Pro between the two. Vs Tangzu Audio Zetian Wu Compared side by side with the Timeless, the S12 shines more brightly. The texture of bass is better on the S12, even though the quantity is close overall.

Hz Timeless - To my ears, the 7 Hz Timeless have not grabbed my attention as much they did others, I still believe they are good and demonstrate good use of Planar Magnetic drivers, but for melodic presentation, they did not grab my attention. Next to blon 03, these are SMALL, smaller than all of my kz’s, for anyone worrying about fit i’m finding them comfy and i have super difficult earsWell, I’m sure I need not emphasize that the S12 Pro utilize a custom 14.8mm planar magnetic driver. Inside its minimalist shells, the S12 uses a large 14.8mm planar magnetic driver. Planar magnetics are popular in the over-ear world due to their low distortion and high levels of detail. A well-tuned planar can offer a tremendous listening experience, so there has been an almost perpetual demand for high-quality planar magnetic option to enter the IEM space at accessible prices.

IEMs with planar drivers handling the bass frequencies generally have rapid bass transients but do not move air or decay as much as traditional DD drivers, which is the case with the S12 Pro. One of the reasons headphones and earphones in India are more expensive than overseas is because of the Goods & Services Tax in India. The P1 MAX from TinHifi is another example of a budget friendly earphone with a planar magnetic driver that has an admittedly great audio performance for the price. The S12 Pro are a bright pair of IEMs; make no bones about it. They have moderate treble extension, sparkle, and air, but for longer listening sessions, treble-sensitive folk might have an issue. The S12 Pro’s low-end focuses on the mid-bass, with just moderate sub-bass extension. Bass is north of neutral but not at bonafide basshead levels.

S12, how much of an upgrade Thinking of getting a Letshuoer S12, how much of an upgrade

The S12’s better mid-bass composure may trigger a chain effect in that the midrange is not masked and therefore clearer. Its transition from bass to lower midrange is much smoother compared the abrupt change in the Timeless…which results in a much more cohesive, balanced sound…which is the dealmaker/breaker for me. I apologize, I haven’t tried the Seekreal Dawn, but I have tried the DUNU Talos, which has an added BA (it can be switched between pure planar mode and BA+planar mode). The LetShuoer S12 is a pretty small and lightweight In-Ear Monitor with a pretty comfortable shape that fits perfectly to my average sized ear chonca. When it comes to the passive noise isolation, I can say that it is on a sufficient level that is suitable for the use in relative noise environments such like a bus or a train. In the area of technicalities, the S12 Pro have above-average imaging, instrument separation, and layering. Micro-details are decent enough but not class-leading. The soundstage is unfortunately bang average and sounds in-your-head.

The selection of tips makes it easy to find a comfortable fit. It comes with three sets of silicone ear tips (small, medium, large) in softer and firmer silicone. There are also three pairs of foam ear tips for better isolation. The Zetian Wu are technically inferior, with fuzzier imaging, less micro-details, way-blunted edge definition, and worse instrument separation and micro-details. The Zetian Wu have a more marked mid-bass bleed with a less textured and slower bass. The LetShuoer S12 is a Universal IEM that shows a decent build quality and pretty comfortable fit. It is equipped with a carefully tuned 14.8mm diameter large Planar Magnetic Driver, which offers a pretty lively, dynamic and entertaining presentation from the lows up to the highs. It has not a reference type of sound tuning, but the colorations here and there do make the S12 to pretty suitable In-Ear Monitor for a wide variety of genres.
