I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that rowing would draw particular personalities, and especially sculling, which appeals to people who don't like to work in a team: it can be done solo and so you don't have to coordinate with 7 other people and a cox. This is a bit outside my usual reading, but back in another life, when I was a collegiate rower and perpetually sore, tired, beleaguered, and intensely happy, this was the book we'd pass among ourselves and pore over with the same monkish devotion we had to our sport. I think that’s because the story is told in a very matter-of-fact way; the visual picture I had developed was more documentary than dramatisation. Building the power distribution center requires attention to detail if you want the one you build to be safe.
