One that you’re afraid of saying too loud in case it breaks. “She’s singing to me.” but i’m left with another cliffhanger and i have so many questions. it hurts in the best way and i’m so excited for gold. i already know it’s going to be everything i need and more. Like a phoenix caught fire, I will need to rise from the ashes and learn to wield my own power. Because my wings may have been clipped, but I am not in a cage, and I'm finally free to fly from the frozen kingdoms I've been kept in. I did a bit of skimming at times because the story was so in depth and there were characters I just didn’t even care to read their perspective. That is my only complaint in this book. Book 3 of this adult fantasy series continues in this epic story inspired by the myth of King Midas, fae, fated romance, and insurmountable greed.

But what I loved most was Auren dealing with her grief and trauma. (Which may be due in part to our family saying goodbye to our dear kitty. Funny how our experience with books can be affected by what’s happening in our real lives.) My initial reaction to this book was how it’s mostly filler. However, all of that is what makes the last quarter of this book hit so hard. It sets us up for an ending that will leave you screaming. Raven Kennedy made this hurt so good and now I have to wait a year before I can read the next book in the series. Regret and revenge war inside of me, and I need to figure out a plan fast before I get tangled up in the schemes of kings and queens.

But with Slade by my side we will fight the monarchs that come for us. And if we need to become the villains, then so be it.I have burned down the court of King Midas and from those flames, I will rise and wield my own power.

Read this series NOW! I felt like I was in the story watching and holding my breath the entire time' 5***** Reader Review stars equals “Meh.” I will not read this book again, it had a lot of problems and I did not care for it. I’ve raved over this series for a while now. This is one of those series that I didn’t really care for early on but it grew on me. The character development and the world building in this series is amazing. I especially love the twists you never see coming. Stars equals I am buying a physical copy of this book. I will read this book at least 10 more times, it is the best ever.

Another fantastic book and what an ending setting things up for what I am sure will be an exciting finale! and once again the wrath never fail to make me laugh and put a smile on my face, while also being the fiercest and most loyal group ever. i’m obsessed with all of them. Towards the end I would recommend having some tissues nearby and there are a couple of parts in the middle that may also have you tearing up. If you are reading this as a part of a binge you will likely have more moments of tears than if you were to read this like I am as the books come out. Glow Book Review

Ok. Whew. First off this book was heavy. You knew coming off of the end of Gleam that this was not going to be a light and breezy book, even on top of Auren still working through a decade of grooming and abuse. You knew her recovery was going to be painful and that this combined with everything else would take time. Every step of her journey, loss, and healing in this book is slow, delicate, careful, heartbreakingly realistic, perfectly depicted, and beautifully handled. There wasn’t a single question, discussion, thought process, or scenario in my mind that the author did not explore which I, as an abuse survivor on the “other side” of life in a healthy and loving relationship, both loved and appreciated SO MUCH. We are finally leaving the fifth kingdom and going into the fourth so we get a whole new aspect of world building in this book. The world is beautiful and Raven does a fantastic job of describing each of the different settings. She really brings this world to life in ways that make you feel like you are there. Star Rating Meanwhile, the royalty of Orea are calling for a Conflux in which Auren must answer for the death of King Midas. In the process they are spreading vicious rumors about Auren swaying the public opinion in their favor.
