Description

Boku Girl is a manga series about a high school boy named Mizuki who wakes up one day to discover that he has transformed into a girl. Mizuki’s transformation is the result of a nefarious deity who believes Mizuki’s feminine side should be revealed. Troop 37 focuses on a ten-year-old boy turned into a sixteen-year-old girl for reasons that, as a rule, are not to be explained. Written by first caller. There have literally been dozens (if not hundreds) of manga titles (mostly hentai) using gender swaps as the central dramatic (and pornographic) device. So many of them have been based on a Freaky Friday Flip caused by two characters either banging heads or falling down the stairs together that these two plot devices have become recognizable (and lampshaded) manga tropes in their own right. Most of these titles were never translated or exported to the west, but a more or less representative selection can be found here.

Despite him being found out, and after some helpful intervening of the perverted student council president, the principal of the school decides that he can stay at the school. Manga is a popular Japanese comic book genre that has captivated audiences all over the world. Gender bender manga, in particular, has grown in popularity in recent years. These stories explore themes of gender identity and expression, with characters frequently transitioning from one gender to another. When there are conflicts between the duties of a princess and her homework, she is allowed to miss various classes or leave early; these absences will not appear on her attendance record. Every month, the princesses receive thirty food vouchers from the school, therefore the food is free and they do not have to pay for it. Tsukimi forms an unexpected bond with Kuranosuke, a fashionable and flamboyant cross-dresser, and they begin to challenge each other’s perceptions of gender and identity. The show is known for its quirky and endearing characters, its heart and humour, and its exploration of non-conventional beauty standards. Although most of the gender swaps on this list are pretty innocent, the replacement of the villain Electro (aka Max Dillon) with Francine Frye is a whole lot more sinister. And why? Because Francine gains her new powers by murdering her predecessor. With a kiss.

New World has a large number of magical transformations, most of which involve both genderbending and either age regression or furry transformation (or in the case of Mina, all three at once). It has since been rebooted as a straight Gender Bender comic, Spiderwebs...and then re-re-booted as New World again. After Genma’s explanations of the curses, the two older sisters nominate Akane for the engagement. But Akane is furious about what happened and she and Ranma start arguing, until, at the boy’s insults, she throws the table over his head. Ranma is now officially engaged to Akane, but the troubles for the two have only just begun.
