Danger Sense: This ability is powerfulin certain situations, though its power level will vary wildly based on what kind of campaign you’re playing in. A dungeon-crawling campaign with lots of traps or a campaign with lots of mages spamming burning hands and fireball? Splendid. A campaign with lots of poisonous creatures and invisible spirits? Much less powerful. Try not to forget about this niche feature when it actually comes into play. Assessments and suggestions for specific Optional Class Features are presented here, but for more information on handling Optional Class Features in general, see my Practical Guide to Optional Class Features. The Berserker path is in short demonic cultivation. The MC hates Qi cultivation because "using lifeforce of universe for selfish purpose" disgusts him but somehow using other people's pain and fear is "cool". Also, i'm surprised by the fact the cultivators do not seem to realize the "much hated" demonic cultivation. I was so relieved when Mu Lin didn’t actually die, like, that would’ve actually been heartbreaking. Around the time of Max’s abrupt removal of his heart, I had coincidentally started playing a song called “Poetic Vulgarity” by an artist who goes by "d4vd". I ended up putting it on loop, to my fortune. ‘cause damn! It was perfect at setting the speed of the scenes playing out in my head. The photo in the frame is genuinely also an amazing coincidence too. A hand over a heart. This is the first time I've read about a system of cultivating feelings and nothing else...and I can see it working in terms of narrative. A cycle of humiliation and people around the MC getting hurt will lead to cultivation increasing and the sweet butchery of the offending cultivator superchinaman. Rince and repeat.

A reasonably easy subclass to play despite leaning heavily on the Bonus Action, Path of the Storm Herald is a great option for new players but still complex and interesting enough for veterans. It has a single decision point which you can change every time you gain a barbarian level, which is great for players who might have trouble deciding, and all three options are reasonably good. damage dice synergize nicely with Brutal Critical.• Durable PHB: Rage gives you resistance to weapon damage types, but you’ll still face The Battlerager’s subclass features center around the use of Spiked Armor. If you can’t get spiked armor for whatever reason, or if your armor is taken from you somehow (rust monsters, etc.), your Primal Path suddenly becomes worthless. But damn, nothing beats when we find out about the bunker. I felt like this world rapidly expanded in my mind, the randomness of the encounter amplifying the confusion and curiosity that Max must’ve felt finding them.

At the time, I kept letting my attention slip a ton. So the first half of the book is a bit of a blur to me. Whether or not that is the book's doing or my own habits is something I have to ponder about. I'd lean toward the latter though. But I will say, I definitely didn't enjoy the first half of the book as much as I did the second half. And I was considering dropping the book.

Manual of Gainful Exercise DMG: If you reach level 20 and get the +4 Strength increase, you can hit 26 The MC cultivates feelings. Both his own and others. For example the pain of been beaten is transformed into the feeling of rage. That feeling is then used as replacement to qi. He circulates the feeling to forge his body for example.
