He was, at heart, a despicable man and yet I have little difficulty imagining how terrible his loss must be for Hanna. Jack I liked from the start - with reservations - and I never had any doubts about Seb, Andee or Graeme.

The big twist, the big reveal I felt was obvious from very early in the story, partly cuz I've read that plot twist in several other books and partly cuz the "clues" were very obvious from the get-to. The characterisation is excellent, although none of the characters are particularly likeable, and I didn’t connect or warm to any of them. At times there were parts which felt overly dramatised but I’m not sure if that’s the writing or the narrators interpretation. A well thought out and intruiging plot with several twists - I did however guess the main plot twist, but will give nothing away by saying anything further! Although the narrator gave it her all and read it well, it's a shame that the main characters are soo unlikeable.

There's a thread in the first half that I really didn't enjoy and I believe that a different vehicle could have been used to facilitate the storyline. With a heritage stretching back nearly 200 years, HarperCollins is one of the world's foremost English-language publishers, offering the best quality content right across the spectrum, from cutting-edge contemporary fiction to digital hymnbooks and pretty much everything in between. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. The mounting sense of a twist did keep me reading, but found this to be lacking in this author's normal high standards.
