I have no idea what that adds up to really. So for now I’m going to go with 2 Stars since I couldn’t even remember the main characters name. A very large prehistoric promontory fort surviving as upstanding earthworks and buried deposits including a box rampart considered to date to the early/middle Iron Age (around 500-400BC) excavated in 1969-1970, the whole monument surveyed by English Heritage in 2001. Aside from the voice, which I'll try to limit my raving on, I was impressed how this drug dealing (and strung out user as well) was able to garner as much sympathy form me as he did. (I suppose trying to find the murderer of an innocent child does that.) I found myself rooting for The Warden when he got into his skirmishes with the hoax, (Low Town slang for the cops) and I didn't even mind so much when he loaded up on pixie dust (Low Town cocaine I think.)

The house is distinguished by its towering 16th-century chimneys, and has an aisled, timber Great Hall from the 1400s, predating the rest of the building.Low Town can be described as a mix of fantasy and noir with some underdeveloped magic. The narrative revolves around Warden's present and past. He is a soldier turned junkie and drug dealer. But with morals. Questionable ones, to be sure, but still. The incident that led to this is (more or less) unspecified. A BEAUTIFULLY POSITIONED FOUR DOUBLE-BEDROOM COTTAGE WITH LOVELY GARDENS AND A FABULOUS VIEW OUT TOWARDS KIRKBURTON CHURCH. WITH GARDENS THAT COMPLEMENT THE HOME, THIS EXCPETIONALLY CHARACTERFUL, LARGE, DETACHED COTTAGE OFFERS TRULY SURPRISING AND PARTICULARLY DISTINCTIVE ACCOMMODATION. THERE IS OFF-STREET PARKING FOR TWO OR THREE CARS, AND STONE STEPS LEAD UP TO THE PROPERTY AND ITS GARDENS, WITH A FULL STONE FLAGGED TERRACE BEFORE IT.

Potential: the monument includes significant archaeological deposits in the form of substantial upstanding earthworks and areas of buried remains, including large infilled ditches; Quarrying only stopped in the mid-1990s and the last occupant was a concrete plant that departed in 2010. With the help of a local community group, nature has been allowed to take hold once more. With this in mind, I'm a little torn about how Low Town answers this third question. On the one hand, the genre fusion of fantasy and noir is superb, and certainly uncommon enough to warrant being considered fresh. But in my mind, genre isn't enough. The story that was told, regardless of setting, follows the tropes of just about any other noir story almost to the T, including the plot. Without spoiling anything, I'll just say that nearly every prediction I made was accurate, and some of my guesses were made very early on. Does a story always need to subvert one's expectations? Of course not. But the highest rating should be reserved for pieces that are truly transcendent; something that innovates and pushes boundaries in new directions. The lost village is one of the several small communities in the Holly Hall area of Dudley which will be celebrated at a three-day exhibition. There is a great deal of dirt, grime, and gore in this book. A few scenes are incredibly vivid in the grotesquerie that they convey. A small snippet from an important scene. I found him really hard to connect to. Sometime you have characters like that and they are made more human by those that surround them. Sometimes that worked out and other time he seemed more of a jerk because of those surrounding him. The magnificent hammerbeam roof in the nave dates from the reconstruction in 1662, while nearly all the fixtures (choir stalls, stained glass, pulpit and reredos) were installed during or after a thorough restoration in the mid-19th century.
