This was a lovely novel. It was sadly timely as well. Beautiful Veronique, a top fashion model, faces a frightening injury when she and her beloved mother are caught in a terrorist bombing in Brussels. Despite surviving, her beauty is a fatality when she is painfully scarred on her face and body. She has lost it all, her mother, her beauty and her career, but not her determination. But when a short break with her mother changes everything she holds dear, Veronique chooses a life of seclusion. I enjoyed Lara, Antonia's stepmother, She gave Antonia some love and compassion when it was pretty clear that Antonia's dad was incapable of showing love or compassion.

Veronique Vincent is an international model who is at the top of her game. She travels the world as one of the most sought-out models in the world. She loves her life and knows she can’t be a model forever. Her mother has managed her career and saved her money and invested it wisely. Veronique’s best friend is her mother, who is a successful lawyer and also lives in Paris. Mike Weston is known for making enormous profits by transforming small businesses into bigger, more successful ones. With his marriage at a breaking point and his children grown up, investing is where he thrives—where he can build something greater. And Brooke’s feels like the perfect opportunity. Yet the firm’s beautiful and savvy CEO turns down the offer before they even meet. What about how many times she has to think about her poor deceased boyfriend who was a single child and his poor poor parents and what would they do without him. Again, I understand, and that is heartbreaking, but the repetition! It just gets eye rollingly annoying after the 54th time you hear it. I noticed something when reading this book that made me smile. All of the writing manuals, classes, and guides always say “Show, don’t tell. Don’t just tell the story. Show it in dialogue. ” Well, I would say 75% of this story is telling, not showing, but it doesn’t matter. It’s captivating, compelling, and moving. The characters are believable and I connected with them immediately. It completely works. And it made me realize that most or all of the books that I’ve read by Ms. Steel have been written this way. That old adage that “rules are made to be broken” stands true here. This style works for Danielle Steel, as many millions of her readers will attest. It is a good lesson for writers to remember. If you want to write in a way that may break a few rules, and it works for you, go for it. Fans of romantic thrillers and of Danielle Steel will greatly enjoy this one. Invisible by Danielle Steel is a pleasant story about a young woman who wants to be, and stay invisible. As the head of a prestigious movie studio for nearly two decades, Andy Westfieldhas had every conceivable professional luxury: a stunning office on the forty-fourth floor, a loyal assistant who can all but read his mind, access to a private jet and company cars. The son of Hollywood royalty, Andy always put his career before his marriage, and now, besides his daughter and young grandchildren, it’s the only thing he truly loves.

Beautiful: The breathtaking new novel about one woman’s

This is a romantic thriller. I loved the mix of suspense and romance in this book and the third person view point. This was a great book and it kept me wanting to read more and not put it down. Their attraction is instant but soon danger is lurking in the shadows ready to pounce on both of them. That wasn't enough repetition? Ok, let's talk about all of the times she says she misses her mother or returning to her mother's apartment and the wave of emotions that comes with realizing she is really and truly gone forever comes washing over her. Ok, yes, she's grieving, and that's fine. I get that, I sympathize with that. But I don't need to be told 987 times about it! Iris Cooper has been singing ever since she can remember, hitting the high notes like no one else. When she is twelve, her father convinces the owner of a bar in Lake City, Texas, to let her perform, and she stuns the audience. In the ensuing years, never staying anywhere for long, father and daughter move from one dusty town to the next, her passion for music growing every time she takes the mike in another roadhouse. What’s ugly is that human beings do things like t Sabrina Brooks is a wildly successful, bestselling author of gripping thrillers. Unlike her fictional characters, Sabrina lives a quiet life in the Berkshire Mountains with her two beloved dogs. But behind this peaceful exterior is a dark, painful past. As a child raised by an emotionally distant father, Sabrina rarely felt love. And as an adult, her marriage twisted into an abusive relationship from which she had to escape. I have been reading Danielle Steel books for a number of years now and I enjoy passing on her novels to my step mum to read as she is a big fan of the popular author’s work. Beautiful has a striking and bold cover that immediately caught my eye. I liked the idea of such a relevant, timely and pointed novel about the construction of beauty being a central topic of examination. The bones were there with this one, but I don’t think it was executed that well. From #1 New York Timesbestselling author Danielle Steel comes an uplifting novel about an author who—to her surprise—inherits a grand estate near London.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.*** I enjoy romances so I like that many of the siblings find love during the course of the story. There is representation as one of the siblings comes out to the family. Something they couldn’t do while the father was alive. One brother is on the high end of the autistic spectrum and needs extra attention and care. It helps that everyone in the family is likable. Even the oldest sister who has some harsh things to say to the the youngest. The oldest son is going through a divorce so his wife is the only villain in the story. Veronique Vincent is a renowned fashion model and has it all. She is beautiful, has a wonderful boyfriend and a wonderful Mom who raised her as a single parent. When a much needed getaway with her Mom turns into tragedy her life is changed forever. She loses both her mom and boyfriend in a airport bombing and has so many injuries that her life will be changed forever. She must start a journey to heal her heart and her body and find a new purpose in life! Great read! I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves women’s fiction. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.I only give 5 stars to books I would consider reading again, and this latest offering from Danielle Steel fits that criteria as a feel-good, entertaining read. Preston and Connie Whittier have spent their lives in successful lucrative careers and raising their six children. The best part about me being annoyed with the repetition is that I listened to the ABRIDGED version of this audiobook. This is all the repetition AFTER they have cut out half of the book! It's pretty standard for a DS book to be repetitive but this one takes the cake for me. Living in a Manhattan mansion, it’s always been the heart of family gatherings and where they all meet up for regular dinners and events.
