I never understood why they did that. This was a unique scent and when I smelled the new version, it reminded me of Aqua di Gioa, which I've never liked. And I remember being on my 3th large bottle of this when I dropped it and it broke... . It was a brand new bottle, it just came out of the box. For 2 days long, everyone who came into my house, mentioned how nice it smelled. Which was quite painful as it was the most expensive air freshener I've ever had. ;-)

If Armani Mania seems like a pleasant smell for your taste or maybe special occasion then the best is to aromatize yourself and give it a try!Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion designer particularly noted for his menswear. Armani started his career as designer of shop-windows in a department store and worked his way up to menswear buyer. From 1960 to 1972 he worked as a designer for the well-known house of Nino Cerutti and then worked as an independent designer for a number of fashion houses before founding his own brand. He presented his first collection of men's clothing in 1975, followed by a line for women that same year. Armani gained a wider audience for his work with the popular movie "American Gigolo," in which Richard Gere's character wore chic Armani designs. This was to be the first of many future film collaborations. How long does Armani Mania last? Well in general this is dependable on many factors from skin chemistry to the time of the year and most importantly the fragrance itself. Also keep in mind seasonal factors including temperature and humidity they all influence the outcome and perception to everyone's nose and level of sensitivity in an individual way. It's not a complex scent but it's kind of unique. That fresh metallic cedarwood along with the white musk in the base works very well. Great for casual and office wear. I tend to wear it on summer nights. It's not a great performer, since it lasts around 3-5h max, and it just projects moderately, during the first hour, essentially. But thats why i enjoy wearing it during summer nights. I just need it to last 3-5h. But this one is funny cause it plays a semi modern tone in 2002. A woody and fresh masculine. Not sweet, not gourmand, not citric, not Fougère. Very dry, fresh and woody. It was different from what I was normally wearing (although I've always been very eclectic in my perfume taste) but it totally suprised me and it became my favorite summer scent.

Fragrance Armani Mania perfume for Women by Giorgio Armani was released in 2004. What does Armani Mania smell like? Well it is an aroma highlighted by a bouquet of fragrant floral, powdery and citrus scented tones that will bring a sensual, uplifting and fresh perfumed sensation. Examining it closer once applied you will notice a lingering quality of softer fragranced balsamic, fruity and sweet hints that hide an essence of calming, warm and comforting feelings. My “Long Lost Favorite” series has received a couple of requests for Giorgio Armani Mania. I am glad it is one of the fragrances you are curious to replace, because it has been among my favorite perfumes. Armani has several Manias on the market today– Armani Mania Pour Elle, Armani Mania Pour Homme as well as a numerous summer flankers, but none have the sultry character of the 1999 original Mania. Created by Jacques Cavallier, it included notes of bergamot, orange blossom, green notes, clove, nutmeg, saffron, amber, white musk, incense, and vanilla. After the shimmering citrus and cinnamon notes, Mania revealed a velvety heart of incense and amber. Unlike most fragrances that rely on rich woods and amber, Mania was radiant and easy to wear. It felt like a silk wrap, rather than a fur coat. Why on earth did Armani discontinue it? It starts off with a lot of saffron and a bit of something citric and slightly sweet but not juicy. They say mandarin orange leaf. I don't know for sure but it's probably that. The saffron is the key cause it gives this slightly metallic edge to the composition. After a while, the cedarwood became more proeminet, the fragramce became drier and the musk adds creamy-floral and soft sweetness to the overall scent.

Once Mania disappeared, I turned to two other fragrances in the same Woody Oriental family — Alexander McQueen Kingdom and Issey Miyake Le Feu d’Issey. Both were also created by Cavallier and both were subsequently discontinued. It made me wonder if Cavallier had a magic touch for creating challenging and polarizing perfumes–a good thing in my book. His Christian Dior Midnight Poison is heavier on rose and patchouli than Mania, but it has a similar smoldering character. Likewise, Tom Ford Noir de Noir, another Cavallier creation done in collaboration with perfumer Harry Frémont, is worth sampling. It is a dramatic blend of saffron, incense and dark roses. Mania is much lighter and brighter in comparison, but I enjoy Noir de Noir’s richness. Francis Kurkdjian said one time that this was his favorite creation for the designer/mainstream market. I kinda like it but i find Narciso Rodriguez for Him and Le Male much better fragrances.
