Bryan Williams the bottom line is you get what you pay for, a cheap MIG set from Lidl will not weld as nice as an expensive set from a decent manufacturer, and when your learning it's a lot easier if you're not fighting the machine to produce good results. I guess they are better for the job since you can’t very well get a blob of molten metal inside your boots It's not been used for a couple of years" but that makes the price negotiable, and parts appear to be available.

The topic ‘just bought a lidl flux core gasless welder for occasional use ..bad idea?’ is closed to new replies. Rumours that Red Bull Hardline will become a series have been roaming the internet corridors a while, so it's perhaps no surprise to have the official news: Hardline will have... you would be far better off getting a clarke 151 with a vat free offer using it on a gasless set up and then swapping to gas when funds allow it As Sardine mentions, you have a good 3 year warranty, you have paid little more than many paid for one of the buzz box machines so yes I would say it was an ok deal. But If it gives me a start so I could jump on a decent MIG and not be a total newbie it's worth it, but if they are unusable rubbish then I'll leave it alone.

Truly. The farm’s in NZ so we visit infrequently. The ‘relaxed’ approach to safety always takes some getting used to but, that said, we do always manage to adjust! 😳 I've still got the Cebora MIG I bought second hand 20 or so years ago, it doesn't get used much these days as I have a bigger better machine but it did me well for many years and it still has many years life left in it.

If you just want a no-nonsense mountain bike at an attractive price point, the Canyon Neuron AL 6 is a very good answer. and when your learning it's a lot easier if you're not fighting the machine to produce good results. These don't appear to be available in the UK - I wondered for a second why they were priced in Euros.... At home I use CO2 rather than "proper" welding gas, sure it's not as nice as the right stuff but it's perfectly okay for the part timer.
