The Orks are masters of salvage and they are capable of turning a completely destroyed tank or other vehicle into a functioning heap of metal and weapons within only days of beginning work on such a hulk. The Rhino is a particularly favoured vehicle that many Ork Mekboyz and Lootas like to target.

Ensorcelled Infusion improves the AP of a vehicle’s ranged weapons by 1 while it’s within 6” of a friendly Psyker. Unwavering Phalanx reduces incoming damage on a Rubric or Scarab Terminator unit by 1 (Mike P: Dustingly Resilient?). Implacable Guardians makes a non-Magnus character untargetable while it’s within 3” of a friendly Rubrics or Scarab Terminators unit, and Malefic Scroll just straight-up causes Smite or another Witchfire power to do 3 mortal wounds instead of D3 – a very handy way to reduce variance. The Rhino is the most common transport of the Space Marines, and the same can be said of the Heretic Astartes, for this machine is so ruggedly constructed it can see hundreds of standard years of warfare and still function at peak efficiency. The APC's chassis is based upon a Standard Template Construct, meaning that it is relatively simple to build, maintain and repair. On top of that, Rubric, Bray, and Scarab Occult Terminators all get ObSec in Thousand Sons detachments, which is a huge bonus for the Terminators. We’ll talk more about them in a moment but they’re even more of a standout unit for the Thousand Sons now. Legion Command Three Warlord Traits. Magnus now gets three Warlord Traits, which means that as your warlord, he reduces incoming damage by 1, re-rolls his deny the witch tests, can get 2 Cabbalistic Rituals, and knows every power in the book. The downside is that he has to be your warlord to get these benefits.

The Defiler Scourge isn’t quite as nasty as it used to be now that it’s 2 damage but it’s still an auto-take and the Claws will tear things up just fine if they have more wounds. The big upside to Defilers in Thousand Sons is that they aren’t competing with Plagueburst Crawlers, and that might make the difference for them, particularly since they can be BS 2+. Heldrakes

The Sabre Tank Hunter is a powerful anti-armour tank. The vehicle is equipped with a forward-firing Laser Destroyer or Neutron Laser Cannon that is capable of immobilising or outright destroying enemy armoured vehicles. The Sabre is becoming increasingly rare in Imperial military use due to the difficulty in producing the tank's main weapons. A more common variant of the Sabre uses a Vanquisher Cannon instead of the more rare weapons. Finally, when the Rhino is complete, the Ceremony of Commissioning is undertaken. The Tech-priest calls upon the Spirit of the Machine God to fill the Rhino with its spiritual power. The final blessing is the Naming Ritual. Every new vehicle must have a name worthy of the great history of the Chapter it is to serve. This name is recorded, and some Chapters choose to paint or engrave it onto the vehicle's armoured hull.
