Making the K3 Connections – all the component cables are pretty much out of sight once any removed plastic is reinstalled or low-profile in being routed along and secured to the frame so there is no chance of anything being caught up in anything else or impacted by heat, etc. wBW has, over the years, reviewed virtually everything marketed by INNOVV and I have been fortunate enough to do many of them, including the original INNOVV K1, its replacement the K2, the single channel C5 system and the Power Hub variants. I had the space on my dash to have more than one component here. So, you can see where I’ve installed the rear-facing camera, just slightly at an angle so I get some of what’s going on the road around me as well as myself. I also put the GPS on top of the dash there. So that it would have a good clear view of the sky, and I’ve put the control button as well. Now, I was wondering if the lights on the control button would bother me being relatively directly in my line of sight, there they don’t at all, even when they’re flashing when they’re telling me my memory card is full. It’s nice just light enough led on there to let you know at a glance but it is not obnoxious or distracting.

If some devices experience difficulties in discovering the K5 LAN ID, try putting the device into Airplane or Travel mode to restrict external or internet connectivity and then turn on (just) the WiFi – the K5 LAN ID should appear and be connectable. This approach also works well with the VIOFO MT1 system. Newer SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-I 128GB and 256GB pieces, U3 and V30 rated were tried, but neither would be detected by the system, even when formatted externally, whereas the lesser rated media works fine – more to follow if this one is sorted out. However, in laying out the K5 system components on three different motorcycles – one sport, one touring and the ADV-oriented motorcycle, the loss of some placement flexibility given the integration of the front camera and DVR module components. A option i am contemplating a little myself as i would like to upgrade to a monitor larger than the 1080p one i have, and also larger than the 27" it is, it would be no problem to move the computer table 1 M further from the wall and then put the TV on the wall ( one of the larger computer tables i have ) also as i am alone, well my whole apartment are more or less my man cave to do with as i please.Once the system boots up, the Camera LED flashes then goes into one or two rapid-flash sequences (uploading/installing), and once done the system reboots and restarts in its normal sequence with Camera first, then the GPS, and finally the WiFi LED. If interaction with the system is the norm, users should familiarize themselves with all the features and their respective settings available with the user interface App. And it is also good to remember that some settings are dynamic (the system updates immediately) whereas other setting changes do not take effect until the K5 is restarted. The new firmware should now be loaded; always verify this via the Settings/System section under the INNOVV App.

Protected (User Intervention) – if the user pushes the Function Button on the remote control during normal use of the K5 system, the ongoing loop video is saved to the Protected Folder and a small Green stylized ‘P’ icon appears on the live view screen indicating that this mode is active and the Camera LED goes into a double-flash mode. Option 3 – uses the thin deformable plates (which many users still ponder over) that are easily shaped for mounting against a non-flat surface (curved, tubular, etc.) and along with the 3M double-side tape pieces, they work very well as adaptive mounts. It is important to correctly connect the DC converter/smart power supply so that when the Parking Mode feature under the INNOVV App is enabled the system provides 24/7 protection even when the motorcycle is not running. The smart power supply triggers parking mode automatically, with the K3 ‘waking up’ and recording when an impact or motion is detected by the (activated) G-sensor. A long-term favourite is Dashcam Viewer by Earthshine Software. Available in three flavours – Free, Standard or Pro. The Free version provides a basic feature-set that is then built upon for the Standard and Pro versions. I'm rather behind the times in that respect. My HDTV is a non-"smart" 1080 model, so I use a Roku 3 for streaming. But it is so old it can't handle H.265 video. The TV can't handle AC3 audio, has to be MP3 or other older format.

I am very suprised that the K5 4K front camera Houses now all the hardware/plugins… it’s to big / bulkiness to mount it slim on the front of the bike. For what reason? Just to plugin the microphone? The rest worked fine by the K2, 1 central unit placed under the buddyseat. This video is saved to the DCIM/Movie folder with the letters ‘F’ and ‘R’ used in the file name to identify front or rear media. Media stored in this folder is not protected meaning that the oldest files will be overwritten as space is required for ongoing video recordings. INNOVV continues to tweak or add enhancements to the INNOVV K5 system in preparation for its formal release and as such, a firmware update was anticipated and with the provided link action, now installed (FW IK5_20201204_V05.5hz). The steps below detail the process. INNOVV K2 (DUAL Channel) 1080P/1080P Motorcycle Camera, WiFi, GPS, SONY Exmor Sensors, Waterproof, CNC Aluminium Camera Mount and DVR Housing. Recording (Protected) Mode –in not (yet) having done a detailed time analysis between recorded media saved to the separate folders, an outstanding question regarding Protected Mode concerns whether only the current loop video is saved off or if both the last and current loops are saved off or if some overlap or bridging time is added.By all means, due to the length of the FRONT camera (2.5M) i had my Lens attached to my helmet already. The single channel multi-purpose and very adaptable C5 in two variants and the dual channel K2 systems have been the flagship video products from INNOVV for a couple of years now. But ‘INNOVV’ is derived from ‘Innovate’ so it was only logical that evolution of one or both flagship systems would occur or, something new is in the works. While our motorbike helmet cameras are designed to catch the unsafe road users and help protect you in the event of a claim or insurance issue, they do also capture some of the best parts of your journeys. And while accessing the storage media is a pain of sorts, it is doable. But how about we get the micro-USB port on the K3, and the K5, fully enabled as a wired (relatively) high-speed data transfer capability? With or without the system being powered up – although the USB connection can provide the necessary system power as well… Note – see Change Summary Section at end of this submission for an update on those cable lengths that have been increased or have an (additional) extension available.

Louis, we will hopefully get some K5 4K, 2K and 1080p video clips uploaded in the near future. Re audio, the bitrate is 63kbps, single channel recording, 16kHz sampling. My TV i got rid off was also not smart, not invented in 2008 when i got it ( as my first ever TV ) but its build in player actually supported a range of formats, even ones often associated with pirate stuff. Looking ahead – once the plastic is removed all the component leads will be properly routed under the plastic along frame or sub-frame runs to keep everything out of the way and hidden.And its seldom that these camera systems don’t have externally accessed media storage and some form of USB interface – an interface that is capable of providing not just the data interface but the standard voltage required to power the module, so the system’s WiFi feature is usable without having the ignition on or the motorcycle running.
