Description

For something a little more luxurious, this velvety tanner from Tan-Luxe is an A-list choice. It’s a mix of oil and lotion that’s gentle enough to use on the face as well as the body. We noticed colour after about two hours (gradual tanners usually take at least four to start developing), which is great if you’re after speedy payoff before a party. The ingredient list- Water, Dihydroxyacetone, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Cocoglycerides, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Laureth-7, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Isobutylparaben, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Fragrance, Polyacrylamide, Ethylparaben, Cetyl Phosphate, Triethanolamine, Erythrulose, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben. The only downside is the product sadly still has that trademark fake tan biscuit smell and even after vigorously washing my hands after applying it, I was still left with orange palms. I’m usually quite good at taking care of my skin and I do often worry about introducing new products in case I have a bad reaction or it results in a breakout. According to the product description, the lotion “glides on effortlessly for a long lasting golden tan every time”. It also promises to “hydrate the skin with every application”.

You say:“I love Ella Bache products and have been a long time user of their body moisturisers, so I was thrilled to test this and also to end up loving it. The smell is so much better than a lot of the tanning products out there in the marketplace and the result is a lovely healthy glow.” – justjo.

A Healthy Glow, Everyday.

The fair-skinned among us know that suncream is a must to avoid the dreaded tomato look, which is why we love this two-in-one product from Skinny Tan. It comes in two factors – 30 or 50 – and gradual tans while protecting your skin from harmful rays. Bondi Sands sent me a sample to try (thank you!) and a velvet tanning mitt to apply with. I thoroughly recommend getting the mitt also. Every time I forgot to use the mitt, I inadvertently turned my palms and fingernails yellow. It also allows an even application and feels really nice and soft. Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk Review Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk Review We say: The St. Tropez Gradual Tan Watermelon Infusion Everyday Moisture Miracle Body Lotion is ideal for those who hate the traditional smell of fake tan. With a refreshing watermelon scent and a hyaluronic acid-infused formula, it’s as juicy on the skin as it is on the nose. Providing moisture for up to 72 hours, it’s certainly one of the best gradual tans of recent years. I followed the instructions to the letter and by the next day I had a glowing, natural tan. I continued to use the product for the next several days and have built up a lovely, natural base tan that doesn’t feel or look fake. Summer is here but the weather has been pretty hit and miss lately, so there's a good chance you're still having to fake that tan.

That's where a tan in a bottle can come in very handy, to give you a faux sun-kissed look for only a few pounds, because it looks like it might be some time before we can get the real deal on a holiday abroad. My beauty regime isn't high maintenance enough for regular fake tan applications and I've generally accepted I'm on the pale side and that's just how it is. To be used with any Isle Of Paradise self-tanning water, your tan will develop within 4 to 6 hours and can be washed off earlier for a less intense look. Plus, the easy application makes tanning hard-to-reach areas a breeze. You say: “It is really easy to apply, even with hands, and doesn’t come out streaky at all. It dries down completely and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy all day like the last one I used (another huge plus). It smells great, but is just a subtle smell, not overpowering. And best of all the colour is very natural, in two coats it looks like a real tan.” Midnight Blue. Having tested Garnier Body Summer Body Moisturising Lotion I can confirm it's pretty good if you like an easy option. It promises a 'sun kissed glow' and I tried the 'deep' version, available from Boots and Superdrug. The lotion is made with apricot oil and as soon as I put it on I could smell the pleasant fruity scent. Since I’m still wary of fake tan, I opted for a more gradual approach that would allow me to see initial results without worrying about turning orange. I did some research on which gradual tans are best for skin that’s on the drier side, in the hopes that tan wouldn’t end up looking cakey or streaky.

We say: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Natural Bronze Body Lotion combines cocoa butter and vitamin E for deep hydration. When using daily, you will develop a natural glow within a few days. The classic Palmer’s cocoa scent makes sure there’s no lingering chemical scent. Since the warmer weather has arrived and you never know what you’ll be wearing these days, I went for a full body tan. The instructions say to apply clean, dry skin in a circular motion and then wait until it has dried until you get dressed. The best way to apply fake tan will depend on the type of formula you are using. If you’re using a serum, such as The Body, your hands are the best tools to use. For mousses or gels, you’ll want to use a mitt for a natural, even result. We say: Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milkhas a dual-actual formula that gives a deep and long-lasting tan while also moisturising the skin. Antioxidants, aloe vera and vitamin E help to give 24-hour hydration.

I used the Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk for about two days before I noticed a colour change and by day 4 I looked like I had a light tan. It didn’t get any darker than light tan level before it starts to fade. It wears well. I sometimes find with full on fake tan products that it comes off unevenly- so I’m still tanned on my knees but my calves are white. As long as you keep using the gradual tanning milk, you’ll keep the colour going. We say: Bronze by La Mav® Gradual Tanning Moisturiser – Medium isinfused with magnesium to deeply hydrate the skin as it develops a rich bronze tan.It containsargan, macadamia and camellia oils to soften and hydrate skin. ‘Medium’ is suited to those who are after a deeper colour. You say:“This is such an easy tanner to use! It smells nice, and applies a tan evenly. It is also super affordable. There is a noticeable difference within about 4 days and you end up with a lovely golden glow, no orange to speak of.”– missm7393. We can’t say it doesn’t smell but it’s not too overpowering. It’s at the higher end of the price spectrum but a little spreads a long way.Summer has finally arrived and it’s time to get the old legs out. It’s a shame that they’re lily white. A gradual tanning moisturiser is a handy way to get your legs ready, without too much fuss.
