Description

Android Auto is a simple way to use your Android phone in the car. The KENWOOD receivers combine an intuitive voice controlled interface with a large touch screen and superior sound quality, allowing you to enjoy features including Google Maps and more. Wireless connection is available on compatible Android Phones. It also has an HDMI input (you could run a games console through the display if you wish), as well Bluetooth connectivity for both streaming music or making phone calls. It also has wireless screen mirroring for Android, which is great for watching videos (when parked up). Should I buy one? Android Auto was designed with safety in mind, helping you to minimize distractions and stay focused on the road. KENWOOD’s multimedia receivers combine an intuitive voice controlled interface with a large touch screen and superior sound quality, making it the perfect complement for your in-car life. You can even listen to and control music from your favorite streaming services like Pandora and Spotify. Navigate to where you need to with Google Maps or Waze. New KENWOOD Wi-Fi receivers also support Android Auto wirelessly (compatible phone required) Bluetooth(R) Wireless Technology for hands-free calls and music streaming. (Available functions depend on cell phone).

Apple CarPlay gives iPhone users an intuitive way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music and access messages with just a word or a touch. With iOS 12.0 and higher, 3rd party navigation apps like Google Maps™ are also supported. Wireless connection is available on compatible iPhones. Glad to hear the screen is better, as that's one of my gripes about the Pioneer unit I have. The UI in the Pioneer isn't fantastic either (better than OEM), so as long as the Kenwood is "as good" then I will be happy, especially if the screen is more responsive. I'm only suggesting these based upon their physical appearance rather than technical knowledge but hope it helps. With the number of others using Kenwood stereos, I also surprised that nobody else has come forward to at least say whether or not things are working as they should. I might not use MW but like you, I would be a bit peeved if it didnt work as they advertise it as having AM and nobody ever says that AM reception might not be possible. We'd go as far as saying Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are must-have features on a new car, but now numerous big-name aftermarket audio firms provide compatible devices of some description. We tested Sony's option a few years ago and, while Kenwood's isn't a like-for-like alternative (technology moves fast and that review's now three years old), it is more advanced. WVGA capacitive touch panel with sharp, high-contrast images, vivid colors and wide viewing angles. With this smartphone application you can control most basic functions of the receiver over the Bluetooth connection of the paired phone (iPhone or Android).

Music Mix – High Quality Audio Streaming: Up to 5 Bluetooth devices can be paired to the head unit at the same time. You can enjoy audio streaming just by switching the devices among your friends and family. In the box, you'll find the stereo itself, as well as a wiring loom to connect to your car (you'll probably need an adapter as well). There's a microphone (for handsfree calls), a USB extension (for connecting your phone) and a GPS antenna for using Google Maps. Phone Hands Free ready: make and receive calls. With a touch of a button you can switch between two phones. There's not a lot going against the Kenwood DMX8020DABS. There are cheaper options, but you kind of get what you pay for. Not only does it do pretty much everything you could possibly want from an aftermarket infotainment system, you can also rest easy in the knowledge that Kenwood is one of the biggest names in automotive audio tech. Note: If your "USB" connected devise does not function (e.g. iPhone4, etc. ), please re-connect your "USB" device using " iPod 1 USB port".
