Surgeon Commander Greenberg argues military attitudes towards mental health have changed for the better. Former Grenadier Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Dorney formed his company Strongmind in 2015 with his wife Susan as co-director. He has assembled a team of highly-experienced expert military veteran trainers in the fields of mental health awareness and trauma management. O God, grant that thy servants, the Grenadier Guards, may ever be mindful of their proud and costly heritage, that continuing to guard what is right, and fighting for what is just, they may so serve thee here in this life that they may be counted worthy to join those who now continue their service in the life to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. The Branch Committee is tasked with the administration of the Branch and organising many of the activities and functions that our members attend. Currently, the Committee consists of just two of our Branch members.

GOODSON, Robert C (Bob) (24440189) – Vice President, Honorary Secretary, Treasurer, Events Coordinator, Assistant Membership Secretary and WebmasterThey think they can't tell anybody and that's a big problem. People who come to us come quite reluctantly sometimes, at first, and are often brought in by their wives, girlfriends or their children."

Its original title was “The Dover Sub Branch”, but we were re-titled as the East Kent Branch in 1969. Following the closure of the West Kent Branch (approx. 2015/16) and the closure of the Medway Branch (early 2023), we were left as the only remaining Branch in Kent. On 18 October 2023, the Regimental Council agreed to our Branch being re-titled as the Kent Branch. DURUP, Michael Stanley Ritter (Mike) (23862398) – Royal Army Medical Corps – Died 26 October 2022, aged 86 The lively text is accompanied by many previously unseen photographs from private collections and is brought to life by a series of high quality and accurate drawings depicting the uniforms of the day. It is an enjoyable human story but is also an accurate account of military life during the war years which will be of interest to anyone researching or studying this period, particularly those with an interest in the early days of the SAS, the world's premier élite force.

DORNEY, Susan (Sue) – Widow of 554998 Lieutenant Colonel Richard Michael (“Skid”) Dorney MBE MStJ MSc who died 18 November 2022 (aged 62) Mental health figures released in early November by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) showed a marked increase in the numbers of serving personnel diagnosed with PTSD on their return from combat zones.

Those in charge of healthcare at the MoD are keen to emphasise that admitting to mental health issues does not mean the end of a military career, and that it is better to seek help at an early stage. Between 1948 and 1977 the Branch was financed by the Regiment, but since 1977 the Branch has been financially independent and holds charitable status. The Grenadier Guards Association is registered under the Charities Act, 2022 – No. 287265. The armed forces have made great steps forward in this area, but until servicemen and women are completely reassured that reporting symptoms of PTSD won't have any impact on their careers, many who are genuinely suffering will refuse to come forward for treatment."PRITCHARD, Kathleen Joan (Kitty) – Widow of 2628726 George Henry Pritchard, Gren Gds who died 14 Nov 2023 (aged 95)
