Description

Everything starts off normal for our main character as he heads into work for a combat sports promotions company. I like potential end-of-the-world dramas, and Don’t Look Up is an interesting and mostly engaging film, but at over two hours, it does rather go on a bit.

Two low-level astronomers must go on a giant media tour to warn humankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth. In Don’t Look Up, while the scientists are trying to get the facts out there about what’s trying to happen – and how everyone’s lives are in danger, the bigwigs are more interested in finding a way to turn it into a way to make rich people even richer. McKay’s righteous indignation is felt throughout, and Don’t Look Up does build to a surprisingly sombre ending that has somewhat of an emotional impact, partially thanks to Nicholas Brittell’s soaring musical score, which is one of the film’s best elements. When political leaders deny the event, the unlikely duo embark on a comedic media tour to convince the world that it is time to look up! Isherwell says it must be a “Bronteroc”, following his computer’s prediction that for her death, she will be eaten by one. They are the ones who discover a comet the size of Mount Everest that is hurtling towards Earth at alarming speed.

An entertaining satire from director Adam McKay that cleverly examines the state and ridiculousness of modern political ideologies, media and celebrities all wrapped up in a disaster/apocalyptic narrative. The outside cover art looks less than official, but if that is something that concerns you, there are places on the web where artists create DVD cover art you can download and use. In this regard the film is a bit of a blunt instrument and it could've benefited from a few more laughs. Jenna Coleman (78) Jennifer Lawrence (45) Jess Glynne (47) Justin Bieber (61) los santos (47) Michael Fassbender (47) Murray Gold (49) Oscar Isaac (45) Peter Capaldi (103) Reece Shearsmith (56) rockstar (46) Sam Smith (72) Samuel L. The film also feels like about three different movies in one, and starts to to wear out its welcome at a whopping two-and-a-half-hours. years later (so, since it starts in the year 2021, the year will now be 24761), it finds a habitable planet and sends the pods to touch down, with a 58% success rate.
