Description

The Aircast Air-StirrupAnkle Brace features two pre-inflated, overlapping air cells (distal and proximal) to provide support and produce graduated compression while you walk around. This helps reduce oedema (i.e. swelling which is caused by fluid trapped in your body's tissues) and helps accelerate rehabilitation of ankle sprains. The support is anatomically designed to help immobilise the area and limit any pain you're experiencing as a result of the condition. Can These Air Cells Be Inflation Further? The Aircast AirSport Support is available in five different sizes, each of which is available for the left or right foot. To find out which size you require, simply use your UK shoe size and consult the table below. If your size falls in between two shoe sizes, it is advised that you choose the next size up if you suffer from swelling. Size The Aircast AirSport Ankle Brace is made from foam-filled aircells, with semi-rigid plastic stays either side of the aircells for added protection. These aircells add padding to the insides of the anatomically shaped stays, improving support without compromise to comfort. Additionally, there is a fabric coating on the brace to improve durability. What Do Aircast Say About This Brace? To determine the functional outcome of the ankle joint after a moderate or severe inversion injury, comparing standard treatment with an elastic support bandage against an Aircast ankle brace. Seventeen patients in the elastic support bandage group (six defaulted, two excluded) and 18 patients in the Aircast ankle brace group (six defaulted, one excluded) completed the study. There were no significant differences between the two groups at presentation in terms of age (mean 35.3 and 32.6 years respectively), sex, dominant leg, left or right ankle injured, previous injury, time to presentation (median three and four hours respectively), difference in ankle girth (mean 14.5 and 14.3 mm respectively), and pain scores (mean 6.2 and 5.8 respectively). The Karlsson score was significantly higher in the Aircast ankle cast group than in the elastic bandage group at 10 days (mean 50 v 35, p = 0.028, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.7 to 27.7) and one month (mean 68 v 55, p = 0.029, 95% CI 1.4 to 24.8) (Student's t test). There was no difference between the groups in the secondary outcome measures (swelling, p = 0.09; pain, p = 0.07). When hierarchical multiple regression analysis was used to correct for possible baseline confounding factors, the Aircast ankle brace group was significantly associated with higher Karlsson scores at 10 days (p = 0.009) and one month (p = 0.024).

The Aircast AirSelect Walker Boot is constructed with a semi-rigid shell to provide ample protection to the area. The support is also crafted with structurally-engineered vents to maximise airflow and minimise mass without compromising support. This helps ensure you remain comfortable even over long periods. Moreover, the AirSelect Standard Walker Boot fits both feet, so you can use this boot unilaterally for either foot. How Does the AirSelect Standard Walker Boot Differ from the AirSelect Short Walker Boot? If you’re dealing with a wrist injury, our A2 wrist braces can help provide the support and stability you need for a speedy recovery. And for those dealing with knee injuries or tendonitis, our knee braces are a great choice for reducing pain and supporting the joint during the healing process. Buy Aircast Moon Boot Always consult a medical professional before using an Air Cast to receive appropriate guidance for your specific needs. The Aircast AirSelect Boot is incredibly light, weighing in at only 0.25kg. A light design means there's less chance of feeling weighed down and fatigue ridden either during the day or post-wear. What Makes the Aircast AirSelect Boot Superior to Similar Boots?

Why Is the Aircast A60 Considered the Best Ankle Brace for Sports?

The posterior tibial tendon is one of the significant structures that support the foot. It supports the foot during walking. Just like you when wearing a shoe, step into the air sport, then cross wrap the strap around the ankle. This lightweight ankle support is suitable for a wide range of sports and physical activities, and can prevent ankle injuries and sprains while playing virtually any dry-land sport that requires turning or running. Suitable sports include, but are not limited to, the following:
