A massive congratulations to Mrs Hinch for this fantastic memoir!! Was delivered today and I read it in one sitting!!

Teachers should use this book in K-2 classrooms as a read aloud. To extend the lesson, challenge students to "fill" a suitcase with items that best say to the world, "Hi there, this is me!" The interactive text even includes a pop-up suitcase at the end of the book! Fun surprise! This book explains what happened many years ago to a teachers great grandmother when she had to move to a new, faraway place. She could only take a few things with her- things that she truly loved. The teacher explains the items her great grandmother brought, and assigned her students to take her Great grandmothers suitcase home and fill it with just a few items that they would bring with them if they had to move- items that described who they really were. Yn achos George, un o'r cynhwysion niferus sy'n cyfrannu at ei rysáit unigryw ef ydy ei fod yn digwydd bod â Syndrom Down.

I am not the type of Hincher that buys everything she uses and I started watching her insta for cleaning tips (I am a bit OCD) but as her account, and family has grown I have found myself skipping the cleaning stories and watching her and her family - not in a voyeuristic way but the happy for her way. Ronnie is gorgeous and always makes me smile, I adore Henry and Sophie and Jamie make me laugh - I have the same issue with my husband leaving things all over the house. Sophie throwing his flip flops on the front garden is something I can relate to. That’s the thing about her - so many people can relate to her! This was trying to be inspirational and a self help book, but all of the platitudes were cheesy and surface level, and nothing about the book made me feel like she was especially wise or someone to take advice from.

Somehow, she survives to not only succeed in the business of her dreams, but to thrive. It wasn't easy. She honestly documents her struggles, both mentally and physically. She continues to have relationship troubles. But Chrissy never lets it dim her optimism that things can get better and that she can improve, no matter where she finds herself.I think Chrissy has an amazing personality. I love her positivity and how she LOVES herself! But this book…it wasn’t my favorite. While I adore Chrissy, I struggled with this book. She spends a lot of time talking about her childhood trauma, and the perpetrators are still very much present in her life. There are points where I felt she excused their behavior–which isn’t okay. Those who are in this situation may feel like they just have to endure it and forgive them. I just can’t agree with that mentality. Now, it worked for Chrissy, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. Who doesn’t love Mrs Hinch!? I have followed her on insta for a while now, love watching her insta stories. My other half and his friends at work went through a phase of discussing how much their Mrs loved ‘hinching’ and how their lives were getting taking over my Zoflora! LIKE ITS A BAD THING! (We all ave our favourite scent right!?)
