Description

Scrikss Graph-X: Worst pencil I've ever used. The mechanism is a disgrace, the material quality is disgraceful and it is absolutely unstable. Never buy this pencil. This pencil is quite heavy and, therefore, more balanced. And that allows one to write with comfort while attaining a superior grip. It is equipped with a binder clip that enables users to attach it to certain objects.

This is not your average mechanical pencil, it’s literally a machine and it can be completely disassembled.

The GraphGear 500 has a smaller barrel, making the model much lighter than its competitors. Despite its lightness, the GraphGear 500 possesses a sturdy construction and a solid metallic grip. Keep in mind when considering leads that you’ll have the widest range of options when you choose a 0.5-size mechanical pencil. If you want to experiment with colored leads, for example, it’s unlikely that you’ll have a lot to choose from in a 0.3 size. Material The body of the Pentel GraphGear 1000 pencil is made of aluminum, making it super sturdy. Therefore you do not need to worry so much about damaging it whenever it slips and falls from your hands. Ⓒ Architecture Lab | Anton Giuroiu 3. Well-Balanced And Comfortable Grip The 1000 maintains these characteristics while providing you with some additional features. Most of these features offer a luxury look and feel to the pencil and are helpful for professional artists.

When it comes to mechanical pencils, the build quality is an important factor. Apart from the appearance, it determines the overall durability of the pencil, with the latter being the more critical aspect of the two. After all, you wouldn’t want the pencil to break after only a few uses, right?

What Is The GraphGear 1000?

Why it made the cut: Yes, Pentel already launched the GraphGear 1000, an allegedly better and improved version of this classic mechanical pencil. But the original GraphGear 500 is really all you need—it’s more affordable, reliable, and unlike its successor, still looks like a classic mechanical pencil. There’s a reason why Japanese retailer Muji made their gravity mechanical pencil line look (and feel) exactly like it. Its beveled barrel promotes control and maneuverability while writing. Also, the knurled metal grip design offers better weight distribution near the pencil tip for better precision. And despite the grip being made from metal, you won’t experience any hand fatigue when holding this pen, thanks to its light plastic barrel. That said, we did notice the brand logo on the plastic barrel coming off easily on scratching or general usage. The Pentel company produces and makes the GraphGear 500 and 1000. The company’s name derives from the words “pen” and “tell,” and the company also creates non-permanent markers. Why Are They Called GraphGear 500 And 1000? Mechanical pencils generally have quite different designs, so it's not always obvious how to refill them with lead. Most of the time, it's just a matter of screwing the barrel at the end to remove it, inserting a new refill inside and then reassembling the pencil.
