The second book drags. The characters seem much more focused on challenges in their love life than the war (though at least they are self aware of this fact). And the books feels whiny at times. The poor characterization in book 2 does allow for better plot and character development later through the series.

Adam Kent: A soldier in the army, 18 years old; he is in charge of Juliette after she is brought out of isolation. He is known as an average man with blue eyes, tattoos, around 6'1", and dark brown hair. He is shown to be in love with Juliette since they first saw/met each other, as children. He can touch Juliette by using his powers but it is extremely draining and sometimes painful for him. I don't understand how Omega Point or Juliette's team keeps on losing over Anderson or The Reestablishment because Omega Point or Sanctuary obviously got the superpowers. Even with Kenji and Nazeera's invisibility, they are already leading the game. It doesn't make sense but okay. The series would have been boring if they always win. 🤷‍♀️ One day, the Reestablishment, a government that has the world within its grasp, comes for Juliette. It is revealed that Adam is a soldier for Warner, the chief commander of Sector 45 of the Reestablishment. Warner, who is also the son of the Reestablishment's Supreme Commander, makes Juliette an offer that includes her being able to get out of the asylum in turn for her torturing any prisoners with her touch as a weapon for the Reestablishment. Isaac, Megan Lynn (Spring 2012). "Mafi, Tahereh: Shatter Me (review)". The Horn Book Guide. 23 (1): 105 . Retrieved 28 October 2014. Kenji spins around. Yanks the gun out of Warner’s hand. “What the hell is wrong with you, man? I thought we were cool.”As for the other characters; James is adorable and funny, loved him. Kenji is fantastic, seriously fantastic. Id give him his own book. I want him as my new best friend, loved loved loved him. Castle was not so great although I did like his and Kenji’s relationship. Like the novels, if you wish. But at least like them knowing the facts: Warner is abusive. Juliette and Warner are in an abusive relationship.

But do we excuse him for shouting at J. for wanting to bring W. Into the fold and not understanding the trauma Adam went through? Oh no how could he shout at poor defenssless J who needed the blond guy to rescue her!!!! Imagine Me is the final book in the Shatter Me series, and it was published in 2020. While there is a final novella that came out in 2021 titled Believe Me, it is from Warner’s point of view. Believe Me”, a fifth novella written from Warner's point of view, is set to be released on November 16, 2021.Adam was annoying (ok), but Warner was worse. Ok, he was emotionally messed up (TILL THE END), but that does not justify ANYTHING (including her leaving Adam for him). If you disagree, just read my reasoning next. Even though Im a reader who isn’t really a fan of long series, I didn’t mind the tiniest bit in this one. I’m actually asking, begging for more. And I keep swearing at myself for not reading them earlier. I've noticed Mafi is the type of author that could write a whole chapter describing a character's feelings. It's not a bad thing but there are times when I feel like some of those are unnecessary (I swear I do not mean it in a bad way). I still love her. The Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi is one of our favourite series and it’s been a dream of ours for many years to create a special edition set for these wonderful books. This set includes exclusive hardcover editions of the first three books in the Shatter Me series: Shatter Me, Unravel Me and Ignite Me. It will also include the novellas: Fracture Me and Destroy Me! From its inception, Mafi envisioned a unique and compelling story set in a post-apocalyptic world, where those in power dictate the fate of the masses. The trilogy follows the journey of the protagonist, Juliette Ferrars, as she discovers her extraordinary powers and becomes entangled in a dangerous web of politics and revolution. What makes the Shatter Me series a reading game-changer

Then all of the things happened, why Adam got into the army, and who the Commander is. Oh my lord, of course anyone would hate the Commander, even how handsome he is, he did not have the best approach though in some way he always wanted Juliette to be strong and stand on her own than treats her like a fragile damsel in distress who needs saving all the time. Which Adam did!

Juliette realizes nothing in her world is what it seems. She is again faced with a choice of being a weapon or a warrior. But for the first time, she has to make the choice while being brokenhearted. 9. Reveal Me (novella, 2019) Thought-Provoking Themes: From self-discovery to the power of love and the struggle for freedom, the Shatter Me series prompts readers to think deeply about various aspects of human nature and society. Unravel Me: Kinda hated Juliette in the first half, Kenji is the MVP, Warner is the King, and Adam.. well he threw a bunch of tantrum, and I hayed that too.
