The other frogs and Flippy say that they really like the book, but Flippy says the potty humor wasn't necessary. When a frog asks why, Flippy says that there is nothing funny about poo-poo, causing all the frogs to laugh. Flippy asks if anyone made a comic that wasn't violent or disgusting, and K.T. responds, saying their comic is free of offensiveness. Can I please do a 600 million star review? I love Cat Kid books! They're so lovely! There are little froggies, and I AM a frog and I LOVE frogs.

Melvin writes a comic all about his sister, Naomi and her perspective, with the formatting being like a song. At the end of Chapter 6: Sister Stories, Summer is writing the Zen Shodo phrase, "Za Ichi So Shichi [3]", which translates to "Sit First, Dash Seven", meaning to start the day with a meditation, prayer or mindfulness before dashing around. Li'l Petey, Flippy, and Molly introduce the twenty-one rambunctious, funny, and talented baby frogs to the art of comic making. As the story unwinds with mishaps and hilarity, readers get to see the progress, mistakes, and improvements that come with practice and persistence. Melvin makes up lots of dumb facts that almost everyone can say that it's fake. Naomi criticizes Melvin by saying it was her idea anyway and also for copying drawings out of books. Lil Petey and Molly teach the frogs how copying is good and Melvin tattles on her again.

Flippy and the baby frogs are now happier, and one of them exclaims, "This chapter's title was way off!" Skelopup comes to life after his old body decays underground. Then, the Cloud of Death takes him to Deadville. Skelopup meets Ghost Girl, and they have fun together. The End... Can Naomi and Melvin remain besties? Will Flippy ever stop worrying? And WHO are the special guest stars dashing forth to investigate the comic club? Find out next time in Cat Kid Comic Club: On Purpose!!!

The titular club is all about Cat Kid teaching the baby frogs how to make their own comic books, with the main point being that everyone can make a comic; this empowers kids to make their own comics and stories, too! Similar to the other Dog Man books, this book was initially planned to be released alongside Captain Underpants and the Sensational Saga of Sir Stinks-A-Lot Full Color Edition, but the book was delayed to April 5, 2022. Good book. I was surprised how in real life, somebody took 2,000 pictures for McSpidderbutt (but only ended up using 111). Flippy says that Melvin shouldn't make up facts and Melvin claims he tried to look it up but Summer and Starla were using the computer to make their Haiku comic transitioning it to their comic. As a series, Cat Kid Comic Club is brilliant. And, I know, it's a Dog Man spinoff, so of course it's brilliant, but seriously this series is brilliant. And I'm saying that as a librarian, not as a total Dog Man fangirl! So, it is officially my professional opinion that Dav Pilkey is accomplishing some impressive stuff with these books: What a marvelous concept. So entertaining, beautifully drawn." — Marie Arana, Literary Director, Library of Congress
