Looking a roto starters and box starters atm and cant make my mind up which one is the better. I like the idea of still having the pull start option still and with going with a roto starter I wont have this option, but the starter box option seems a bit heavy and needs a car battery available. The Trophy Truggy FLUX is completely painted and assembled for you, fitted with an HPI 2.4GHz radio system and ready for you to add two 2S LiPo batteries! You'll get to experience 14.4 volts of monster power driving 1965KV of brushless power! Long travel suspension and high traction HPI tyres coupled with race inspired geometry ensure the Trophy handles just as well through the corners and rough stuff as it does in straight line drag racing. Power is nothing without control, so dual disc four wheel brakes ensure the Trophy can anchor up in no time at all. Ready to go straight from the box, just charge up your batteries and youre ready to crush the opposition!

A fantastic list of hop-ups can be found here, it also includes non-HPI stuff: http://www.beatyourt...ium-hop-up-list Building on the success of the HPI Trophy Truggy, the HPI Trophy Flux brings brushless power to the renowned HPI platform! Thanks for that DLD, I am swayed by a starter box and thinking about it were I plan to drive around to I will need to drive there so power isn't an issue really. The drivetrain used in the Trophy 3.5 buggy is a full-time four-wheel drive shaft-type drivetrain. The shaft drivetrain is the best option for a kit that’s expected drive through mud, water, dirt, grass, snow or gravel! The entire drivetrain is supported by high quality ball bearings for extra efficiency, so you get the the maximum speed and acceleration possible, and the most out of every tank of fuel! The HPI Racing Trophy 3.5 Buggy is a radio controlled toy that is designed for off-road racing enthusiasts. It features a durable and lightweight aluminum housing material, ensuring resilience against rough terrains. With its dimensions of 518 millimeters in length, 300 millimeters in width, and 180 millimeters in height, this 1:8 scale buggy offers a compact yet powerful performance. When I first showed up to test out the HPI Racing Trophy 3.5 buggy I was greeted with a nice surprise. The first thing I noticed was a very well built vehicle that looked much more like a race buggy than your typical “drive around and have fun” buggy. The fact is, if not for a pre-printed body, and a pull start engine you could easily mistake the Trophy 3.5 for a full on race buggy. Theres also the Associated rc8, Xray 808 hyper 9 ect... again who you ask will give a different response. Iv owned a few associate cars (b44, tc5r to name a few) and tbh that put me off for life, but thats me. The 808 looks stunning but i think its dated to some now, but they released an overhal kit to upgrade it. To increase the chassis stiffness, it’s fitted with metal rod braces front and rear – this allows the suspension to do all the work it’s designed to do for improveed driving feel and control without chassis twist or bending getting in the way.

Although pull starts are a pain because they brake often enough, it is the lighest choice. And you can buy 1 or 2 spare pull starts and when they brake, you immediately replace with a good one and repair the bad one for next time. I find that priming with my finger over the exhaust, until fuel gets to the top of the engine feedpipe, and then ten more pulls gives it enough fuel to get a good start. Just make sure your glowplug is fully charged. I also heat the engine with a hairdyer, if at home, or with the engine up to the car heater vents, with full heat, for a minute or two helps to warm the engine up. The chassis of the Trophy 3.5 buggy is made from 6061 aluminum for an excellent combination of strength and light weight. The low weight allows for faster acceleration, and the durability means you can have the confidence to pull off insane stunts and jumps!

A steel spur gear takes the power from the engine and transmits it through a central differential, which transfers power to the front and rear diffs by long central driveshafts. The front and rear bevel differentials use 4 internal gears for excellent durability over standard 2-gear diffs. The diff outdrives turn tough steel outdrives and axles, and 17mm orange anodized aluminum hex adapters spin the 7-spoke wheels, which are wrapped with Team HB Proto design rubber racing tires.
