Similarly, Hootie and the Blowfish’s Only Wanna Be With You is handled with admirable timing, but the strummed banjo rhythm through the intro isn’t quite as three-dimensional as we might hope, and there’s a small loss of insight at higher frequencies. It’s not a massive sonic issue for a product at this price, but worth noting nonetheless. The Earfun Air Pro fit securely, connect easily, have reliable controls and feature basic but effective noise-cancelling profiles – for just a small premium on the Air model. There’s also USB-C charging and wearer detection, plus the sound is pretty decent for the money.

Specs: in-ear (with stem), dimension: 2″ x 1.2: x 2.2″, weight: 8.4 ounces, Bluetooth 5.0, full-charge (case): 1.5 hours, charging type: USB type C, playtime: 35 hours with charging case Switch to Words Of A Fool by Barry Gibb and Jason Isbell on Tidal Masters and there’s a pleasing level of separation and clarity between the wurlitzer, piano, textured guitars and Gibb’s soulful vocal. Taylor Swift’s Willow is similarly expansive through the three-dimensional string section and, although there’s that marginal touch of harshness through the midrange, Swift’s central, often ethereal vocal stylings are well-handled.

The EarFun Air earbuds have a very sleek design, with no obvious buttons or switches. Their touch-sensitive controls are a design feature that helps contribute to the EarFun Air earbuds IPX7 Waterproof with Sweatshield™ Technology. In fact, I put the EarFun Air earbuds through multiple heavy sweat-inducing workouts, and not only did they work flawlessly, but they also stayed in my ear throughout. Strong work on this, Earfun. Perhaps the only issue I had with the EarFun Air earbuds was that I had some difficulties in learning the touch controls; they can be a bit sensitive with the various taps used to control various features. The extensive list of touch controls are as follows: This feature allows you to still hear the sound from outside while listening to music. The transparent mode have useful for being aware of the dangers that will arise while listening to music, for example, as you walk on the sidewalk or across the street, you will hear the horn of cars. Or, you can hear the operator while you are wearing earbuds. Battery Life The EarFun Air has a meaty and very punchy bass, right out of the box – users will not need any EQ to feed up their bass. The EarFun Air Pro or another known as the EarFun TW302 model. I like the design of Air Pro, the stems earbuds, it’s fit well in my ears. Ear tips are designed to be removable and the company provides 3 different sizes of ear tips (S/M/L) that make more fit for different sizes and shapes of ears.

Perhaps the only indication that we’re dealing with a sub-three-figure set of in-ears here is the battery light display on the case. It features just one little LED to denote the amount of juice remaining. The solution is a good one though; when the case is opened, the light glows green when it has more than 30 per cent battery, orange when it’s below 30 per cent, and red at 10 per cent. It flashes red when you’re nearly out of juice and need to charge.

The EarFun Free 2 offers a good array of features that open them up for use for various purposes. Are you a keen gym and fitness fanatic? Along with their solid fit, the Free 2 offer IPX7 resistance, which means they’re fully waterproof and should happily survive any encounters with rain and sweat.

Also, a waterproof rating of IPX7 means you can submerge them in water up to a depth of 1m for up to 30 minutes. Always useful. As for the charging case, you care about getting a pillbox-style charging case like most other earbuds cases out there. There is one LED light that lights up depending on the battery juice left in the charging case. The above LED light indicator is a lip for opening up the case and revealing the buds. The position that the EarFun Air earbuds sit in your ears will depend on what is most comfortable for you. Although I expected the little posts on the earbuds to point downward when I placed the earbuds in my ears, the above photos show how the EarFun Air earbuds fit most comfortably in my ears, with the little posts aimed forward and slightly downward. In this position, they felt really comfortable and stable in my ears, and in fact, even while sweating quite heavily during several vigorous workouts, the Earfun Air earbuds stayed in my ears. This is one of the very few times that I could recall this happening with any of the wireless earbuds I’ve reviewed. Kudos to Earfun for nailing this. The Free 2 earbuds are their cheapest pair of true wireless, sitting alongside the original, and still available, Free buds. With a feature set that looks to capture mobile gamers and fitness fanatics, these are the type of all-purpose earbuds that often crop up – and judging by their performance, do a solid enough job. Design On the other hand, male vocals and lower mids will sound relaxed but can risk to become a bit congested at times. Indeed, the EarFun Air carries a very competent IPX7 waterproof rating, which should make them capable of holding up against dangerous situations (water-related) without damaging, in comparison to many other true wireless earbuds. While similar budget-friendly headphones can come off somewhat congested, here the design of the driver and earpiece (which doesn’t sit too far into the ear canal) allows for a pleasant and spacious presentation.

Specs: in-ear, dimension: , weight: 0.16 ounces (each earbuds)/, driver: 10mmBluetooth 5.2, frequency response: 20 – 20kHz, impedance: 16 ohms, charging type: USB-C, playtime: 8 hours (single charge)/32 hours (with charging case), Once the Charging Case’s internal battery has been fully charged, the tiny LED changes from red to green as shown above. I tend to forever need bigger ear tips and the similar applies here, with the bigger ear tips that are included the fit is just great. I can move around without too much risk of them falling out, but I would not want to go to a run with these earbuds. Beyond those three profiles, there’s no scope to tweak the levels of noise-cancelling, and without app support you can’t activate them on your phone. However, once we get the hang of tapping just below the mic at the top of the stem rather than on the mic itself, it’s a solution that works well. We’ve reviewed two other products from EarFun in the past and they turned out to be really great products. The company has sent us their new earbuds to review, this time a true wireless pair. At just about any volume rate I set the buds too, they kept a similar sound performance. That is including putting the volume at a high level. I do not notice any kind of distortion.
